Texas Gov. Rick Perry said today that using foreign aid to combat human rights abuses against homosexuals in foreign countries is not in Americas interests and attacked President Obamas decision to require U.S. agencies operating abroad to promote equal rights for gays as part of the administrations war on traditional American values.
Just when you thought Barack Obama couldnt get any more out of touch with Americas values, AP reports his administration wants to make foreign aid decisions based on gay rights. This administrations war on traditional American values must stop, Perry said in the statement. Promoting special rights for gays in foreign countries is not in Americas interests and not worth a dime of taxpayers money.
Perry moved beyond the national security implications of the decision and honed in on what he deemed to be an attack on traditional American values.
But there is a troubling trend here beyond the national security nonsense inherent in this silly idea, he said. This is just the most recent example of an administration at war with people of faith in this country. Investing tax dollars promoting a lifestyle many [Americans] of faith find so deeply objectionable is wrong. President Obama has again mistaken Americas tolerance for different lifestyles with an endorsement of those lifestyles. I will not make that mistake.

I am deeply concerned by the violence and discrimination targeting LGBT persons around the world whether it is passing laws that criminalize LGBT status, beating citizens simply for joining peaceful LGBT pride celebrations, or killing men, women, and children for their perceived sexual orientation, President Obama wrote in a memorandum with his name attached. Under my Administration, agencies engaged abroad have already begun taking action to promote the fundamental human rights of LGBT persons everywhere.
It instructs the State Department, the U.S. Agency for International Development and other agencies to use foreign aid to build respect for the human rights of LGBT persons.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry, a Republican presidential candidate, criticized Mr. Obama for being out of touch with Americas values...........
Pull the plug, Ricardo. Worry about getting re-elected to your current position.

Wait a minute, I thought that Rick Perry was opposed to all foreign aid except aid the US provides to Israel.
But, now Rick Perry is saying that he is opposed to Obama’s cutting off of foreign aid to certain nations.
What is your problem?
He’s 100% right on this issue. Not a penny should be spent to prop up the sin of sodomy. It was an abomination in Old Testament days and remains so today.
We should be using this as a completely valid excuse for cutting off all foreign aid to countries in the ME who want to kill us.
Or at the very least a public demonstration of Democrat hypocrisy.
Neither is letting parasite illegals suck dry our economy, but he doesn’t seem to have a problem with that.
Perry is absolutely right on this issue. The more people calling out the Regime on this outright crap, the better.
“We should be using this as a completely valid excuse for cutting off all foreign aid to countries in the ME who want to kill us.”
Don’t you find it odd that Rick Perry opposes the cutting off of aid to Muslim nations in the Middle East?
I actually favor this; more for Thailand and Taiwan, none for the muzzies.
That is what I have been told.
I look for his numbers to as much as double with this...
“Perry is absolutely right on this issue.”
Are you saying that Perry is absolutely right in that aid to Muslim nations in the Middle East should not be decreased?
The controversy isn’t over human rights for gays; it’s over gay rights for humans.
Rick Perry said all countries that receive foreign aid from the U.S. need to show why the United States should give them money. It makes no sense to give foreign aid to countries that are hostile to us, hostile to our allies, or who support our enemies.
I can smell his desparation all the way down here. He has no problem coddling illegals but he calls out Mr. Obama for coddling homosexuals?
Gays have “Human Rights” just like everyone else.
What they want is to have special treatment because of their sexual practices. That is ridiculous.
This is part of the spin and euphemism used by leftists and the media.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

Gov. Perry has been diligent on border security and he will seal the border and NO amnesty. The Feds have nurtured this outrageous mess and Perry will clean it up.

It is odd....
