BREAKING: Sources tell FOX 5 News that Herman Cain will endorse Newt Gingrich Monday for the GOP Presidential Nominee
I just heard Mark Davis (local talk show guy) say that he was afraid of Mitt’s tendency to move to the left when challenged.
Me, too.
However, when Newt won the House in the 90’s, he lost focus.
His own compadres described him as grandiose, hyperbolic and a disaster at administrating.
Tom Coburn said, in Breach of Trust, “After the shutdown, however, he was like a whipped dog who still barked, yet cowered, in Clinton’s presence.”
Now, if elected, Newt would not have to content with a president in the other party. However, he would have to contend with constant criticism from the libs and the press.
Could he be steadfast this time?
We won’t know until we know. Do we want to take that chance?
.
Send Newt something from Tiffany’s
.
“Now, America faces the specter of another 4 years of Obama because two (count ‘em TWO) Establishment RINO schlubs will NOT motivate the base or ANY serious group to throw Obama the hell out of office.”
Obama’s putrid presence is all this member of the “base” needs to be movtivated to throw him the hell out of office.
Your description of the Cain affair is spot on...I thought about it all just now before I clicked up FR with my joe.
There are a lot of crushed folks here...crushed over Cain and Palin before that...me being in the latter but like you the Cain Train left the station without me from the getgo.
Given the way that last media statement went, it’s a dead horse now. I don’t see how anyone could not tell he had some hand in his own downfall.
Liberal prejudicial media notwithstanding.
man, that last disclosure must have rocked his wife..shame for her
You sure like to hear yourself talk, don’t ya?
He’d just give it away.
I will.
Its almost always not worth losing friends, but friends dont deal in attacks.
Primary Seasons are always ugly and good friends can strongly disagree and even post lies about candidates with whom they disagree and strongly dislike, but I usually take a pass on those posts and just let it go.
Its much different whenever those same posts come from a troll or a poster whos often nasty. (smile).
EXACTLY! TheOldLady taught me not to feed the trolls so I simply don't respond if they are flaming me. Now if they ask a reasonable question, then I will respond.
But if they scream "Dengar01 is a RINO LOVER, ZOMG!!!", I choose to ignore them as if they don't exist.
Someone was legitimately mad at me for not immediately supporting Bachmann or Santorum!!!
I remember talking to you specifically on a debate thread where we were both impressed with Newt, I think he was talking about sending Dodd and Frank to jail :)
Of course he has made mistakes in the past but haven't all the candidates?
Sadly, this will get uglier, I just hope and pray that Newt wins this and we can rally around him and unite as a community to send Barry packing!!!
yeah, I hear you. I really liked Gloria, how sad.
I also hear you about the Palin devotion. When I think of the hours I spent on this forum applauding and lauding Sarah and defending her from her detractors ... if I just had those hours back, I could clean out the refrigerator, which is in dire need of it.
However, I reacted quite differently from the Cain supporters when she decided against running.
Yes, some said it was the evil media that changed her mind, but she knew that would happen. I think she led us on too long. If something changed, I don’t yet know what it was.
I still like her but she kind of disappeared from my thinking.
Right now, I am not obsessed with who she will endorse. It won’t affect me. Unless, of course, she endorses Perry in which case I would change my mind quicker than Mitt changes positions or Newt changes adverbs.
But she will not endorse Perry until he manages to get a serious bump in the polls. She’s a political animal who wants to retain her credibility and she will endorse whoever looks like the winner.
It really amazes me how quickly she faded from my conciousness when she opted not to run. Am I fickle or what? At least the Cain people can’t say that.
Translation: You've got nothing.
How's that Sun Tzu like political strategy you promised us Palin was engaged in working out? I'm still waiting for your explanation for the "If Sarah wasn't going to run, she would have said so a long time ago" stuff you spammed all over the forums for months on end.
What a surprise, considering that the Republican establishment was the most likely source of Cain’s trashing.
Hee! I a female and no, I don’t think you’re older than I am if you remember Rickie Lee Jones. I bought her album when I was in college. My room mates thought I was a Bohemian for listening to her music, that and I was an art major at the time. They were all about REO Speedwagon. LOL!
Now I’ve got Chuck E’s in Love going through me head. Not a bad thing...
It hasn’t happened yet. To be sure, I’d be glad to see him endorse someone other than Romney.
There is no way whatsoever any candidate, or our congress, or any leadership is going to stop the globalists. Not going to happen. It’s an agenda which has been, and is, and will continue being in play regardless of any resistance to it...or if we like it or not...it’s here to stay...and that’s just facing reality.
So with the reality of it I’d rather our President understands what it is and can make decisions which will benefit our country as it moves along so that it works favorable for this nation. I detest it, but it’s just plain here to stay so we work with it to our advantage...and Newt will do that because this country is first in his thinking and he’s never deviated from that stance.
Perry’s also a globalist and most who are at the top of the rung.... Bush was as well....it’s simply the trajectory the world is on and either you work with it or become isolated altogether.
I’d have no problem we be isolated...however that’s just not in the cards any time soon.
Seems odd that Cain endorsed Romney in 2008, and now Gingrich just 3 years later. Wonder what Romney did since 2008 that was so bad, he loses Cain’s endorsement? Flip floppin on the flip flopper.
Kinda goes together, I guess.
Gloria wasn't rocked by any means IMO. There's more to Cain's marriage then most want to believe....doesn't appear the two were that close for many years and she was aware of Cain's wander lust. Thus the marriage has been as many...."old school" stay together. Cain could travel and be away from home doing his thing....and she had the comforts afforded to her by remaining in the home. It worked for them but I don't think there's allot of love lost between them for this entire scandal....I just think she put her foot down..she had enough of the press and the shenanigans and likely affecting her otherwise social and community life.
katie, you’re too nice! :) I didn’t like him from the start — the announcement of his run began with the phrase “Shucky Ducky” from a guy wearing sunglasses, it just doesn’t have the gravitas befitting the office. Also, I don’t think anyone should be lifted to the level of presidential candidacy on nothing but a wave of shoulders and a surge of love. Just goes to show that conservatives are not immune to SND: the same Sweet-Nothings Disorder that raised Obama to the White House.
And yet you were the one who started in with the name calling by claiming I was "dim" and tossing around insults. I'd say the track record is pretty clear on who is "hate-filled" and it isn't me.
Your calling me an ignoramus, yet it isn't my predictions that turn out spectacularly wrong. However popular my judgement may or may not be, I usually get it right. You on the other hand, well, not so much.
