I have an email buddy who was a part of the Berlin Airlift. He met a girl there and fell in love. They are still married after all these years. She is ill and bedridden and her beloved husband cares for her round the clock.

He is a hero in more ways than one.

WOW! He certainly is a multi-hero. We thank him, both for his service to our country, and such loving care for his beloved.

I was an air traffic controller stationed in Berlin from 84-88. The AF continued to have a plan to resupply Berlin in the event of another airlift. I remember every month a C-141 from Charleston would fly into Tempelhof for training.
