PLYMOUTH, Mass. -- A piece of debris came crashing through the roof of a building in Plymouth.
Investigators are not sure where the piece of debris came from or what it came from. However, they do know it came from far up because the force of the object falling tore a hole through the roof of a building.
Luckily, the object fell into an empty room and no one was hurt.
Andrew McWilliams, an employee at Michaels Warehouse, was shocked when he opened a door in his office to see the debris on the floor.
And that was the first thing I saw. We couldnt see the daylight at first, we moved some stuff around and you could see there was a hole in the roof, said McWilliams.
A mysterious metal object had shot through the buildings roof and office ceiling like a bullet.
Judging from the weight of the object, someone would have been killed, said McWilliams.
The company owner, a frequent flyer himself, immediately thought it must be a part from an airplane.
It was seven or eight inches long, three inches around. It kind of looked like an axle to me, something round and solid steel, said Michael Fucchini, the owner of Michaels Warehouse.
Plymouth Police are investigating.
At this point we can only speculate that it came off an aircraft, we are taking steps to determine if that is the case. We are investigating further and we are in contact with the FAA, said Capt. John Rogers of the Plymouth Police Department.
Police sent the object to an aviation expert to confirm if it did come from an airplane. Those experts said it does not appear to be from a plane.

No need to panic, simply a rods from gods practice round.
“The company owner, a frequent flyer himself, immediately thought it must be a part from an airplane.”
And of course being a frequent flyer qualifies him to be an expert in aviation metallurgy.
They blast a lot of rock in MA to build things.
I lost a thick lexan window from a P-Baron @ 15,000 feet. It landed in an amusement park, slicing thru a hot dog food stand.
I wonder if it could be part of a wood chipper?
If it was from one of these, it would have been more brick like in shape

I’ve seen something recently that looked almost exactly like this object. A very old tree blew over in the local park, and in the roots at its base was a collection of oyster shells and old glass bottles ... and a cylindrical object that resembled this thing almost to a T. I’m going out there tomorrow; it’s probably still there.
Brilliant Pebble projectile?
Shades of “dead like me”. http://m.imdb.com/title/tt0348913/
More like a piece of satellite that recently reentered the atmosphere and after some internal explosion. pieces where temporarily sent back into orbit.
That thing is really chewed up. That doesn’t look like damage caused by hitting the roof.
I’ll bet that got your attention....and made your day. Glad you get to talk about it.
Ping! Mysterious metal aerial object.
You walked away from archeological treasure? Lots of folk would have scraped it but I would have put it in my collection.
