Why is it that "Conservative Women" like Ann Coulter, Laura Ingram, Christine O'Donnell and the like are well into their 40s and 50s and still are not married of have any prospects. Seems to me that having a normal family would be one of the largest conservative things that they can do.
Yep, the scumbag dumped her as soon as she was diagnosed.
Thank goodness he showed his true colors before they were married!
Condi Rice would definitely have a hard time finding someone, she is
just the perfect woman. Attractive, brilliant, traveled she would definitely
have to lower her standards to find a perfect partner!!!!!
If he is the type to go after Couric then it looks like Laura had a close escape there!
Do you have to be married to be conservative? Isn’t it enough to be pro-small government, a supporter of the Constitution, and for the sovereignty of the individual? I’m just wondering.
That's all well and good at work.
In interpersonal relationships, it's domineering. Or bitchy. Or something. It's not good, in any case.
I'm sure you're very proud of your daughter.
If I were her age ... and single ...
I wouldn't touch her with a 10 foot pole.
Sorry.
Has nothing to do with being "intimidated"
Has everything to do with not needing the drama. I have enough trouble with high-maintenance, hyper-competitive jackasses at work. I don't need it at home.
I'm sure that's not what you wanted to hear. It's the truth as I see it.
And if you're thinking that I must be some sort of arrogant bastard ....
I think Laura Ingram probably has more of a family than those who criticize her. Three children seems to be an adequate family to me.
I guess(now that I think about it) is that most of them live in areas where there are more spineless, metrosexual TURDS than you can shake a stick at.
Although I can’t speak for them personally, but much of your answer lies in simple male-female dynamics.
Females tend to be far more particular about whom they invest their time and energy with. Basically the man they typically want to be with is of an equal social standing with or higher.
If a woman has a high social standing, it can be difficult for them to find a man of equal social standing or higher.
She is still an attractive, bright woman. But can't find a decent man?
She claims to be Catholic so certainly knows that God wants children raised by a mother and father. She had to have many decent men pursue her, yet she choose to import accessory children and raise them alone?
She claims to be pro life but regularly gives over her show, and a huge forum, to Tammy Bruce, a pro abortion, unrepentant lesbian?????????
Would Rush get away with turning over his show to a pro abortion, homosexual? Tammy Bruce has written about Laura bringing her children over to her house.
You can scream at me all day. But my common sense brings me to a conclusion about Laura. One that I don't respect. And most importantly one that I feel harms her children.
AND I have called to simply ask the question, why would she have Bruce as a regular guest host. They wouldn't let me thru.
IIRC, Laura Ingraham was engaged and the man dropped her when she got cancer.
Maybe they are “frigid” for one reason or another..
And/Or simply do not require live in companionship..
Having “somebody” on the premises can be a liability..
They simply may not be groinal.. or neurotic..
“Lawyer Personalities”?
___________
That can be a problem. I was a practicing attorney when I met my husband, and in my 30s. I had to make an concerted effort to focus on being kind, instead of being right. I still have to work on that, but I have softened up considerably.
It took me a long time to realize that men don’t want a verbal challenge at the end of a long day. They want a break, and some comfort. Women want that, too.
Another thing is that men often want a woman in their 20s. These women like Anne Couleter are “over the hill” and would be attractive to guys in their 50’s. However, they might not want an “old man”. An attorney friend of mine who was in her early 40s told me she didn’t want to meet the engineer that I wanted to introduce her to— because he was 51. Too old for her. Now she’s 50, and still single, of course.
This Navy brat would never flame a Navy Vet (well, ALMOST never)....
Must every conservative female have a husband and rugrats to fit your ideal?
My best friend (and college roommate) never found the “Right” guy. She wanted to have children...lots of them..., but also realized kids need a FATHER, not baby-daddies. She’s a successful businesswoman in Nashville, single, childless (except for her 3 big dogs). And though she tells me she sometimes feels like she missed out on her dream family, she also feels good about her life, because she didn’t settle for just a husband (instead of a partner).
Does that make her less of a woman, or less a conservative...because she didn’t marry a sperm-donor willing to “put a ring on that”?
She believes she did the right thing...and I agree with her 100%.
Sorry, USNavy Vet, you are way off base here.
I’m comfortable with priests devoting their lives to their calling, and not dividing it with wife and kids.
I’m similarly comfortable with these women devoting their lives to their career callings.
Besides, they are wealthy, famous, and have ample opportunity for social interaction. I image they receive many offers from qualified lads.
Half of those “normal” folks — as defined by the dictionary — end up divorcing, creating broken families.
Most folks don’t consider the lifetime commitment and work required to have a successful marriage and family — they simply do it because it’s the normal, 95% thing to do.
Ann dated Bill Maher for awhile, does that count?
“Something about Coulter makes me think she plays for the other team”
You mean she’s actually a liberal?
Oh, that can happen. I've never MARRIED a witch per se, but boy have I courted a few! You'd think the wart on the end of the nose or well-worn broom would have been a clue BUT you know what they say about a bird in the hand...or is it in the bush? Well, anyway, you get the point. Them witches are wiley.
Laura has at least one child. A while back, while subbing for BOR she spoke of herself as having a daughter, as I recall. As for other details or info, I have none.
Having a conservative philosophy is actually a tiny part of the tapestry that can compose the emotional makeup of a woman.
There is no way to know why they are where they are in life without knowing them personally. I’ve had a conservative ex-wife who I couldn’t stand and a moderate ex-girlfriend that I got along better with than my ex-wife.
There is a lot more to a successful relationship than agreement on political beliefs.
