I'm beginning to think the Dems REALLY FEAR Gingrich, because he has nothing to lose by telling it like it is.
I’m trying to imagine the debates between Obama and Gingrich, and the nation that voted in Obama suddenly thinking, “You know, Gingrich may have issues with his ex-wives, but he sure shares my morals, and he may take money from Fannie Mae, but he doesn’t strike me as the crony capitalist type, and I have been looking for someone who talks sense on illegal immigration and can get along with Nancy Pelosi.”
I’m not against Gingrich, exactly, I’m just not seeing the electorate suddenly falling in love with this guy, when they’ve not exactly fallen for any candidate solely because he was the smarter of the two choices.
Where is that briar patch????
Is there a Republican candidate for whom the Democrats have not “silently cheered”?
That is their response every time there is a front-runner in the race. It is designed to sow seeds of doubt.
They are a gang of immature chattering rhesus monkeys.
Yes, the Dems always say they just can’t wait to run against whoever the frontrunner/nominee is.
That said, the Dems do not fear Newt.
For one thing, those Dems who lived through Newt’s Speakership years know very well how much their base hated Newt and how they haven’t forgotten.
I’ve said it before: the effect on the Dems of nominating Newt for President would be the same as the effect on the GOP/Tea Party of nominating Nancy Pelosi for President.
It’s called, um, heightened voter intensity. I.e., the willingess to crawl over broken glass to vote against him/her.
Doesn’t mean Newt can’t win, but it’s a factor when you have a sizeable portion of a party’s prime voting age base (the baby boomers) having already formed an opinion of Gingrich from the time that he was Speaker.
Of course, maybe having Bill Clinton come out and praise Gingrich last week may help with that problem?
Personally, I thought that was a perfect trap. It would be so easy to lure Gingrich into a compromising political position with the former President or even with Hillary. Then the Clintons would turn it back on conservatives.
yeah right . . . they are shakin’ in their boots at the prospect of TOTUS having to debate Newt. I’m loving the 4 hour schedule and the Columbia and Harvard law professor and editor of the Law Review (whichever C or H) being afraid to debate the Georgia small college educated Newt.
Harkin should take heed of the old Chinese proverb:
“Be careful what you wish for, you may get it.”
Just like the ‘80 Carter campaign.
The truth is ALWAYS the opposite of what a ‘rat says. Now we know, Obama is all wee wee’d up and Michelle is getting that old feeling back of not feeling proud of her country.
Thanks, Harkin, for letting the cat out of the bag while we are getting ready to evict the commies out of our house.
I think slick willy is the author of this article....Justin Sink
TS
Bomb thrower?!
I remember Harkin peeling off his suit jacket, loosing his tie and preaching like Elmer Gantry at his demagogic best during Paul Wellstone’s Funerally.
I generally consider Sen. Harkin’s opinions to be worth less than a bucket of warm spit, but hope he’s right on this one. Because Newt will pound the Kenyan out of Obama.
Whistling past the graveyard????
Harkin also lied about his service while a Navy pilot during the Vietnam War:

Just sayin...
Don’t bring up bomb thrower...might rekindle the curiosity of the American public as to why our Dear Leader launched his political career in the home of a domestic terrorist.
Gingrich has all the Rats afraid because Obama is the wildly unpopular socialist rat in the race. Gingrich may have bagage but he is a student of debate, he is a very effective communicator of Conservative ideas and how they can be used to fix the situations that the liberal policies have caused. I am loving it because the truth is going to be told on the national stage, Obama will be left to try and defend the last 80 years worth of liberal failed programs that are bankrupting America. There is no denying this and it is simple math you don’t need an MBA to figure out that the country is on an unsustainable fiscal path a path that is not curable by revenue increases and the only people that have ever seriously discussed solutions to the liberal problems plaguing America have been Conservatives. One look at www.usdebtclock.org
Tom Harkin is a communist.
But he’s probably right about the Democrats loving the prospect of running against Gingrich.
