Harkin (D-Iowa): Obama team silently cheering Gingrich rise
The Hill ^ | 12-1-11 | Justin Sink

en. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) said that Newt Gingrich would be a "heaven-sent" nominee for President Obama's reelection campaign and that there was "silent cheering" from the Obama campaign about his emergence in the GOP race. The senator went on to dismiss the former Speaker as a "bomb thrower" in a call with reporters Thursday.

"I was in the House with Newt, as a matter of fact, years ago. I can remember him being a bomb thrower at that time," Harkin said. "One of those people always lobbing things around - I thought at that time, in his early career in the House, he was irresponsible at that time."

Harkin went on to say that while he has "never met a more undisciplined person," he admitted that Gingrich was an "intriguing individual."

I believe we are at a time in American politics where if you tell it like it is you'll win. Newt will not only destroy Obama in a debate he will do one better. He will annihilate the left wing moderators. Not an endorsement just an observation.

Never listen to what these old time Democrat SOB’s have to say, just watch what they do.

They don’t want to see Newt in a debate with the Kenyan, that’s for sure.

I'm beginning to think the Dems REALLY FEAR Gingrich

Exactly. IF the 0 team were 'silently cheering' (they're NOT), lame Harkin wouldn't be saying this publicly.

Totally different level of dynamics with Obama.

Yeah. He's worse. Have you been following the absolutely terrible numbers at his speeches and fundraisers? 30 people last night in NYC fundraiser and in Scranton a little over 200 people showed and they were free tickets and it was beautiful weather. I don't remember that with Carter.

Obummer in a Union Hall giving a speech this year. A UNION HALL and no one showed up!

It will be VERY easy to remind the public again of why he was so unpopular.
Why is that, because the Dems made a big deal out of his personal life? BFD.
First of all, it don't mean nothin'.
Second, all we have to do is remind the Dems of Clinton's "personal activities" while in the Oval Office.

“The MSM was told to repeat it by the Obama operatives.”

The Obamunists FULLY EXPECT their media minions to do all the dirty work for them in 2012.

It will be personal attack, after personal attack, anything to turn the focus away from Obama and the inconvenient facts.

The View will attack the nominiee DAILY, all with Colbert, the Daily Show, E! Entertainment Television, Telemundo, yada, yada.

You know, if I found myself in complete agreement with Tom Harkin (D-Iowa)I certainly might consider reevaluating my position. Just sayin!

When Tom “Dung Heap” Harkin talks about ‘Bomber Throwers’, is he talking about William Ayers aka Billy-the-Bomber?

I might have agreed with him until I saw Newt’s interview with Hannity yesterday. Actually I did agree with him. Now I’m not so sure. In the interview Newt called Obama (in front of millions of people) a “Saul Alinsky radical”. Which leads me to believe Newt will attack. Unless he goes McCain on us after the nom. Thoughts?

I’m trying to imagine the debates between Obama and Gingrich, and the nation that voted in Obama suddenly thinking, “You know, Gingrich may have issues with his ex-wives, but he sure shares my morals, and he may take money from Fannie Mae, but he doesn’t strike me as the crony capitalist type, and I have been looking for someone who talks sense on illegal immigration and can get along with Nancy Pelosi.”

I’m not against Gingrich, exactly, I’m just not seeing the electorate suddenly falling in love with this guy, when they’ve not exactly fallen for any candidate solely because he was the smarter of the two choices.

Obama is VERY thin-Skinned. When he faces even the SLIGHTEST push, he gets ANGRY, and has done so on camera many times.

In a debate, he won’t be able to glare and have his minions threaten the job of Gingrich.

He’ll fold like a cheap suit, while Gingrich lays out a VISION for America’s future.

Damn! I sprayed my monitor over that one. Quick, hand me something to wipe it off. Your tee shirt will do. :-)

You are correct. If the Pubs put the geezer up against princess O , he will be spending all of his time defending his past. He will have to import a whirling Dervish troupe to keep up with the spin. Wait until they ask him why he resigned from Congress. Maybe he will explain exactly how much cash he extracted from big pharmacy and for what. The list is endless. This will be McCain redux without the respect for his service.

Is there a Republican candidate for whom the Democrats have not “silently cheered”?

That is their response every time there is a front-runner in the race. It is designed to sow seeds of doubt.

They are a gang of immature chattering rhesus monkeys.
