BREAKING!! Aide: Herman Cain will stay in the race
The State Column ^ | Nov 29, 2011 | Staff

After reports surfaced Tuesday morning that pizza magnate Herman Cain is reassessing his 2012 Republican presidential nomination bid, POLITICO obtained a statement from a Cain campaign spokesman regarding his candidates’ consideration of dropping out of the race.

“Yes,” the campaign spokesman said Tuesday when asked whether Cain would “definitely” remain in the race.

The clarification comes after the National Review Online released statements that Cain made in a conference call with campaign aides Tuesday morning. During the call, Cain made the following statements, “We have to do an assessment as to whether or not this is going to create too much of a cloud, in some people’s minds, as to whether or not they would be able to support us going forth,” Cain said.

Lots of truths in old adages:
No good deed goes unpunished.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. (or one rejected)

Many candidates are running for president to really just bring an issue to the forefront instead of winning an election. He may just re-purpose his campaign to get back at the machine that’s trying to ruin him, among other things.

Yes. Doctors call this “Transference” and it is a normal part of the therapy process. Doctors, Teachers, Ministers, even celibate priests run into it ALL the time.

I have even experienced “needy” MEN getting crushes on ME just because I ministered a kindness to them. UNGH!!!!!

Ditto. And I just got a shot of that in my back a couple of days ago. Really made me just sick to my stomach. Left myself short because I trusted someone...mostly for the children’s sake. Throw children into the mix and I am a goner. Still short and it ain’t coming back. You live and you learn.
This woman had two childen that were not grown 13 years ago.

Be well and never give up your ministries and good works!

Goodness always wins. We don’t always see it, but He does.

Yes...it IS sickening, no matter how many times it happens. One NEVER gets used to it.

Just remember, HaShem takes care of it all in the end. Don’t ever let the enemy win by enslaving us to resentment and bitterness.

My prayers tonight will be for Herman Cain, Gloria Cain, and our Beloved nation. This battle is a spiritual one.

Hi Katie.... Cain is important to the party even if he doesn't win the Presidency...and who knows he may rise above this. Either way it's wise that Cain continues his run as he shakes Bo and his thugs over the black voters they depend on for Bo's re-election.

I like that Cain decided to run though like you I'm in Newt's court. The fact Newt himself has high regard for Cain I would not be surprised if Newt doesn't have a place for Cain in his administration and vice versa if Cain wins. I also think that Cain is taking his cues from Newt so they can continue to clear the way for either to take the Presidency.

Voters are fickle...we'll never know until the votes are in and the decision made who the man of the hour will be. But though some might be disappointed if their candidate doesn't win...I think most here on FR will vote for whoever the primary winner is against Bo....except maybe Romney.

You also find anger when you have finally decided enough is enough and finally say no, even if you have said yes a hundred times before. They expect the yes, and when a ‘no’ finally comes, they literally hate you for it.
I would bet a pretty penny that is exactly what happeded here.

Here’s the thing. This hack reporter from Fox5 Atlanta is bragging about working on this story for “over a week”.

So you think he would make sure he had real proof to go along with the allegation.

Did he ask the woman if she had an actual text and not just a phone log? Did he ask for a specific date/hotel/plane ticket?

You don’t need a week to get something like that from her and verify it online or elsewhere with the appropriate sources.

And if you don’t have it yet, why not wait until or unless you have separate corroboration? Isn’t that Journalism 101?

You may be right. Have noticed that Newt is the ONLY candidate to come to Cain’s defense. There has to be a reason that Newt thinks so highly of him

“61 messages to or from” That leaves open the possiblity that she was contacting him frequently and he was responding seldom.

The press realizes that most people lack critical thinking skills, and that they're easily manipulated into thinking the worst when presented with even the most mundane information.

Sadly, the first instinct of most people is to imagine the worst, when they're given information such as was provided in the Fox News article.

“Anyone who thinks smooth and suave is going to lead us out of this mess we’re in is delusional.”

Hey, the first time this grandmother saw Herman Cain on Neil Cavuto several years ago I thought, This guy is really smooth, suave and very sexy! Besides that, he is very, very intelligent! :)

By the way, there are some terrific comments on the petition mentioned here earlier.

It’s funny how Romney operative Karl Rove always seems to know more about pending allegations against Cain than Herman Cain does:
