Lots of truths in old adages:
No good deed goes unpunished.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. (or one rejected)

Yep...those old sayings were based on observation of the human condition.

You also find anger when you have finally decided enough is enough and finally say no, even if you have said yes a hundred times before. They expect the yes, and when a ‘no’ finally comes, they literally hate you for it.
I would bet a pretty penny that is exactly what happeded here.

********************************

The behaviour of this latest woman and perhaps one of the others seem somewhat like stalking to me.

From Wikipedia:

Stalking can be defined as the willful and repeated following, watching and/or harassing of another person. Most of the time, the purpose of stalking is to attempt to force a relationship with someone who is unwilling or otherwise unavailable.

Unlike other crimes, which usually involve one act, stalking is a series of actions that occur over a period of time. Although stalking is illegal, some of the actions that can contribute to stalking are initially legal, such as gathering information, calling someone on the phone, sending gifts, emailing or instant messaging.

They become illegal when they breach the legal definition of harassment e.g. an action such as sending a text is not usually illegal, but is illegal when frequently repeated to an unwilling recipient.
