..The Texas governor has faced criticism from Republican rivals like Mitt Romney for being "soft" on illegal immigrants, because those who live in Texas can attend state universities at the same cost as other Texas residents.
Perry, who made the remarks while campaigning in New Hampshire with a controversial Arizona sheriff, said that if elected he would immediately order the deportation of any illegal immigrant detained in the United States.
"My policy will be to detain and deport every illegal alien who is apprehended in this country," Perry said. "And we'll do it with an expedited hearing process so that millions of illegal aliens are not released into the general population with some hearing date down the road."
Non-violent illegal immigrants who are arrested are currently allowed to stay in the country while awaiting deportation hearings in immigration courts.
Perry was briefly among the front-runners for the Republican primary nomination after entering the race in August, but has been hit by attacks on his immigration views and stumbled in a series of poor debate performances.
Recent polls show Perry running in fourth or fifth place among Republicans nationally, and about sixth in the relatively moderate state of New Hampshire.
But ongoing problems with sexual misconduct accusations against rival Republican Herman Cain could arguably encourage some conservative voters to take a second look at Perry.
Perry's endorsement by Joe Arpaio, who claims to be "America's toughest sheriff," was designed to rebut criticism of his immigration policies.
Arpaio has drawn national attention for creating all-volunteer armed posses to sweep for illegal immigrants in Arizona's Maricopa County..

Last I read the agriculture economy was being hit very hard which will have a trickle down effect in rising food prices because the state couldn’t get the crops harvested because there weren’t enough people who showed up or if they did they couldn’t do the work. Not only that, it appears that other economic factors weren’t thought out like all the other businesses suffering when the mass exodus happened. Those people spent their money on consumables which in turn profited retail business owners. Writing laws based on pure emotions is usually 100% bad law.

We got voter picture ID, made it illegal for illegal aliens to get a drivers license, and made it easier to deport convicted criminals, just this year. We do not have a law that would allow us to identify illegal aliens in our schools, but how has that worked out for Alabama?

It’s called consequences. I’ve been saying that we are simply reaping the consequences of aborting an entire generation and not having enough children to even replace this generation.
If Perry can’t lead both Texas Houses how is he going to lead the hacks in DC in both houses.
Quite frankly, if any GOP candidate wins, they will face the same problems. A divided country. All while our country is in a death sprial.

Arpaio is a Republican. In 2002 Arpaio endorsed Betsey Bayless for Governor in the Republican primary.

He didn’t endorse Democrat Napolitano or anyone else for Governor in the 2002 General Election.

To be accurate, Arpaio did appear in an ad that Napolitano touted as an endorsement. Arpaio denies that was his intent.
As for Arpaio endorsing Romney in 2008, he endorsed him over McCain. In 2010 Arpaio endorsed J.D. Hayworth over McCain for Senate. I think it’s safe to say Sheriff Joe doesn’t like McCain.

Still no solution for illegal immigrants' long-term care costs…………..”Still, the real problem isn't hospitals, which transfer most all patients, both U.S. citizens and illegal immigrants, once urgent care is no longer needed and the bed is needed for other patients. It's long-term care facilities, unable to afford to accept patients, like Martinez, who don't have insurance. It remains for hospitals, obligated by federal regulation to arrange post-hospital care for those who need it, to find alternatives and to provide care indefinitely if they can't....
Fact is, most of the states don’t have the money to fight the FedGov on these issues.
We can make any number of laws at the state level but, until someone is in the WH who cares about state issues, nothing will be done.
We have a part time legislature in Texas. Our legislature only meets for a few months every two years. He already called them back and that item didn’t get done. Calling them back again probably would not change that. All in all, I like them being out of session because when they are not in session they cannot screw other things up.
