Perry says he'd detain, deport every illegal apprehended

AMHERST - Winning the endorsement of Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio on Tuesday, Texas Gov. Rick Perry echoed his stance on illegal immigration today in the Granite State, saying he would support a federal law to "detain and deport every illegal alien that we apprehend."

During a morning campaign stop at Joey’s Diner, the presidential candidate said he would end the current catch-and-release policy that cuts loose nonviolent illegal immigrants.

Calling the policy "horrific," Perry said the future of America depends on the security of its borders. If elected, Perry said that one year after his inauguration the border with Mexico would be secure, with thousands of National Guard troops deployed and strategic fencing in high traffic areas.

“It is a federal responsibility to secure the borders,” Perry told a crowd of breakfast customers and members of the Amherst Republican Committee. The candidate said there is a need for full-time surge at the border.

What a nightmare...The open borders insiders, the cheap labor corrupt big biz cabal, all line up behind another open borders career politician from Texas...

Bush posing in a border patrol dune buggy, now Perry will be inviting Bush for Cinco De Mayo festivities up in the White House...We need a new national anthem, like some abrasive whiny Mariachi tune...Get ready to pass out the Perry bucks!

Yeah, now ... but before he said that people were being heartless when they opposed education for illegals. Gee, I wonder what changed his mind?

...and the only reason the fat lady hasn’t sung yet, is because she was trampled by voters escaping the good ship Perry-flop, for the lifeboats.

Couldn't agree with you more! you can't have it both ways.

He hasn't done it in his own state, what makes any one think he'd do it nationally? It is called keeping FAITH with the OATH he took as governor.

From what I understand most of the jobs he 'created' went to ILLEGAL INVADERS, not US CITIZENS!

As I say in my tag line:

Any congress critter or president who FAILS to keep faith with the Military, WON'T keep faith with U

This goes ditto any governor, congress critter or president who FAILS TO ROUND UP AND DEPORT ILLEGAL INVADERS!

Not only do we have to pay for their health care, housing, court/ jail/prison cost, but education K-12, and have to dumb down OUR schools for them, we also pay for their food, which exceeds what we provide our own Senior Citizens who have not seen a COLA raise in nearly 3 years they get $10-30 a month in food stamps IF THEY QUALIFY! make $1 to much or have more than a few dollars in the bank and you won't qualify, but an ILLEGAL INVADER WILL!

Senior's are having to deal with the OBAMA DEPRESSION/INFLATION on the same income they had 3 years ago. and are digging into what ever savings they have to survive.

I see the Commodity line once a month at our community center, and the number of "frail elderly" seniors who can barely walk, mostly women, has tripled in the past 3 years. All for a few can of fruit and veggies, because that $10-30 in food stamps is not worth the hassle of obtaining. These are not people 'faking' it, most look like a strong wind would blow them over, they are well into their 80's or up.

Huh? He wants to detain and deport every illegal, yet he also wants to give them subsidized college tuition? Makes no sense.

It makes sense if you separate federal from state level decisions. Since the federal government has refused to deal with this issue, it has left the State of Texas with little options but to adjust to the situation on the ground. And regarding the instate tuition rate, they are getting that b/c they have lived in Texas for 3 years prior to graduating from a Texas high school, which means they have been paying into the system via taxes. They have to pay their own tuition, therefore they are not getting subsidized by anybody.

I think if you check this policy you mention is the same policy that GW had in place in Texas as gov

You say that like you think it should surprise somebody. See you at the bill signing. But really, the two proposals (detain and deport, instate college tuition) do not coexist in the same universe. Who cares what Bush did. He didn't exactly cover himself with glory on the immigration issue..

Why would you ( yes I know they already have) .
Anyone who breaks the law to the extent the police arrest you should be deported,

We need to separate the kids going to college fro high school in Texas( btw these illegals do NOT get subsidized with taxpayer money for college)
separate the illegal kids from the illegal criminals.
perry is pretty tough on all criminals. he has not delayed ONE execution.

so I believe him when he says he would deport the crooks.

I still however would only vote for him if it is him against 0dumbo and i want to make it so every illegal and all their anchor babies are begging to go back

When will people wake up to Perry? He’ll say whatever it takes to get the vote and two seconds after being sworn in reverts to liberal mode again.

I’ll one up you. Last I checked it was not legal to make money off of a crime committed. If someone steals someones identity and remains here illegally, I think that the party whose identity was stolen should be reimbursed by the illegal. The ill gotten gains should be liquidated, then go into a trust of sorts. That trust should pay for the most uncomfortable deportation home, and a certain amount of money should be deducted (say $2,000) for the coffers of Border Patrol or whatever, and then the trust be given over, tax free, to infringed upon party to pay to repair all of the legal problems they often have to pay, as punative damages.

There is no reason that taxpayers should have to pay for the illegals trip home. Liquidate their fraudulently attained assets and pay for all of the costs. Millions of illegals have been deported, I believe it is 3 times in U.S. History. Get them out, and get them out NOW.

Thank you. I see a lot of generic rhetoric regarding Gov. Perry but not much fact to back it up. Unless you want to beat the immigration horse past the afterlife, Perry is probably the most conservative candidate we’ve got.

And I’ll take his record over Newt’s (who also pissed conservatives off about immigration) any day.

Perry has let illegals into Texas. There are millions of illegals in Texas.

I met an illegal that makes $100 per day working for a subcontractor . And he has an American girl friend now.

So they are taking our jobs and our women too.

Perry: Deport Them! Gingrich: Cut of funds to Sanctuary Cities!

Most tend not to believe Perry.....but swallow the load of crap dispensed by Gingrich.

lol! I can see that.

She has warmed up, she has been introduced, she has taken the stage and the maestro is tapping his baton...the room has grown quiet in anticipation of the first note which is due at any time. Meanwhile Rick Perry, the Pat Paulson of presidential politics is busy flip-flopping on a lifelong career of pandering to ILLEGAL aliens, remains oblivious to what is happening around him.

Yes they do. The law signed by Perry gives in-state tuition to illegals themselves, not to their anchor baby kids who didn’t need a law.

This guy had his moment, he’s not ready for prime time.... I don’t know what he’s doing anymore other than maybe trying to vie for a VP spot which I don’t think he’s ready for that either.

Nice guy, glad he’s on our side, but its time to go back to Texas.

This guy has been well done since day one.
