AMHERST - Winning the endorsement of Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio on Tuesday, Texas Gov. Rick Perry echoed his stance on illegal immigration today in the Granite State, saying he would support a federal law to "detain and deport every illegal alien that we apprehend."
During a morning campaign stop at Joeys Diner, the presidential candidate said he would end the current catch-and-release policy that cuts loose nonviolent illegal immigrants.
Calling the policy "horrific," Perry said the future of America depends on the security of its borders. If elected, Perry said that one year after his inauguration the border with Mexico would be secure, with thousands of National Guard troops deployed and strategic fencing in high traffic areas.
It is a federal responsibility to secure the borders, Perry told a crowd of breakfast customers and members of the Amherst Republican Committee. The candidate said there is a need for full-time surge at the border.

Perry.....scrambling for air and significance....before he runs out money......
I dont care what his past is, he is a conservative guy. My only fault with him is his selecting to stand behind foreigners over Americans.
If he can stand behind Americans, I am more than willing to stand behind him.
Rick Perry v6.0
Detained and Deported...would that be after they completed state tuition assisted college.
“I think if you check this policy you mention is the same policy that GW had in place in Texas as gov.”
Nope.
Past actions (lack of) speak louder then Campaign promises.
Perry has allowed illegals to invade Texas.
Only Pat Buchanan has been consistent on illegal immigration correctly figuring out this is a foreign invasion. Pat has written about this for 15 years.
Jump in Pat Buchanan. Or we need to draft Pat.
Anyway Pat Buchanan has the best positions on illegal immigration and on China. Pat is miles ahead of ANYONE on these issues and others. Pat is brilliant. Read his books then youll see.
This is what Pat Buchanan says on immigration. You all tell me which politician has a better plan:
Stop the invasion from the south; limit immigration
Buchanan said his exclusion from the three televised debates between Bush and Gore kept viewers from a real discussion of issues like immigration. One of the great social crises of this country is unrestricted immigration and an invasion from the south, he said. I will cut back legal immigration to 250,000 a year and I will defend Americas border, if necessary with American troops.Treat illegal immigration as an invasion & repel it

Pat Buchanan on China
China trade pact is a complete sellout
Buchanan branded the Clinton Administrations trade deal with China a complete sellout. Buchanan said the agreement, reached on Nov. 15, would continue a move toward world government at the expense of American workers. He said the minute he is elected president, the new world order crashes.

Impose tariffs on China; end World Bank loans
Beijing does not deserve the same preferential treatment as Britain. The US should negotiate a reciprocal treaty with China that imposes on its goods at least the same tariffs and taxes Beijing imposes on ours, and we should veto any additional World Bank and Asian Development Bank loans to China. These are nothing but foreign aid.
If he hadn’t gone out is way and fanatically opposed fence, e-verify and calling us heartless for not supporting tuition discounts, I might believe him.
Since he strongly voiced his opinions then, I simply don’t believe him anymore.
Too little too late Jose.
Why does the word “pander” come to mind...
Perry is the three inch Perch on the cutting board. He flip flops non-stop, and you find it very hard to pin him down to throw him back. Then he jumps out of the water and you have to start all over.
Rick, I’m not buying what you’re selling. Do us a favor and swim down stream.
You had me at “Here’s Sheriff Joe,” Rick.
Why would we need a new law to do this? Obama is the one who changed this policy, as well as slashing workplace enforcement by 70%.
Past actions (lack of) speak louder then Campaign promises.
Got that right.
Your #3 —— “nice catch”
While they are being detained will they be offered in-state tuition?
Seriously, he opposes e-verify. How exactly will he detain illegals if he refuses to even look for them?
if he opposes e-verify, how will he find these illegals?
Hint. Standard issue equipment, a robe and a lantern...
Sounds good, but so do most things politicians say when running for office.
Perry is currently tied with Ron Paul in the RCP polling averages. He is scrambling to become relevant before he drops below Paul, something that would start the fat lady singing for his campaign.
IOW, he won’t bother looking to apprehend any
