CNN host Piers Morgan spoke with Gabrielle Giffordss husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, on Wednesday and discussed Sarah Palins controversial crosshair map, which targeted the Congresswomans district. Kelly wrote in a new book that the former Alaska governor never reached out to them. We were never contacted by her, Kelly said.
I find that extraordinary, Morgan exclaimed.
Yeah, I was surprised too, Kelly replied. You know, certainly the targets that she put over Gabbys and other peoples districts, in our opinion, was not the right thing to do. She is not the first person to do that. And it hasnt always been Republicans that have done that.
Some interesting insights in the book into who, you know, walked to the plate and who didnt, really, in terms of political colleagues and people that she had worked for and against. Sarah Palin doesnt come out of this very well, I dont think, because there was a woman who at the time had been putting these cross hair things on her website and stuff, including Gabby, Morgan observed. And in her haste to take responsibility didnt even bother to pick the phone up, to write, do anything.
I liked your line about it, which is if you had had the chance to talk to her, and you were expecting to, you werent going to say that you were responsible, Morgan pointed out. But you were going to say, youve been irresponsible.
Yeah, thats my plan. You know, this was no surprise to us. Gabby even spoke about it before January 8th, during the election cycle, leading up to the election, in an interview. I think it might have been on MSNBC or some other another cable news network. She made is very clear that, hey, this is whats going on, and this could ultimately incite people to do violent things. So it wasnt a big surprise on January 8th that you know, that we you know, where we knew this map existed with the cross-hairs on it. Now, having said that, you know, Sarah Palin certainly is not responsible for what happened. But I think the angry rhetoric in an election year is not its not helpful.
“I expect soon he is going to whine that I didnt send him a fruit basket.”
Or flowers, either? How about a stuffed huggy bear with balloon to brighten his day?
Tweet! Over here!
I am thinking more about the little girl and the other ones that were killed.
The whole anti-Palin smear thing was going even before the survey marker maps were trotted out, because the Left was trying to portray the TEA party movement as violent.
BTW, I haven't heard much about the perp, recently, either.
I just don’t think that many people are interested in Gifford, i think it is just a time filler.
If I was Gifford, I would be ashamed to be getting so much attention when there were others killed.
Kelly and Morgan bothere were repulsive but IMO, Morgan was the most disgusting!
Perhaps the congresswoman wife owes America an apology for voting for Obamacare?
And who might be thinking of running for the seat in Congress next time? What a weasel.
RE: “Grunt and drool”
Well, seeing as how that’s the typical, standard, totally interchangeable and replaceable Model 100 Liberal’s reaction to just about anything, it’s right on track...
“...I haven’t heard much about the perp, recently, either...”
And you won’t, either; because Loughner is one of THEIR Star Pupils, on the left - he’s the typical poster child for what happens when people swallow the liberal brain-deadening BS all their lives and actually take it to heart.
Same as the little dork who shot up Virginia Tech...and this latest moron that took shots at the WH.
The word, I believe, is Lunacy...
YEP
Hey, Mark Kelly, drop dead. Your wife deserves better.
btrl
Yes, and no. She is the new Jim Brady (there is another round going over releasing Hinkley, by the way), which means she is the new poster child for gun control.
Cosnidering the irony of using her as time filler when the network could have been peeling back the rocks about 'fast and furious' (a 'non-story' of corruption, misfeasance, murder, and miscellaneous felony behaviour which makes Watergate look like a third rate burglary), the irony is unreal.
From all accounts, despite her politics, Gifford was a nice and likeable person before the shooting, and still may be. If she is still capable of being mortified, of understanding the way she is being used at this point, she just might be ashamed of the attention.
