SUPER FAILURE: Deficit Committee Certain To Announce Failure Tomorrow

It's over. After months of posturing and secret negotiations, the super committee has failed at its task of reaching $1.2 trillion in deficit cuts.
Via POLITICO's Mike Allen:
The official deadline for action by the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction is Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. The real deadline is Monday night, since any plan has to be posted for 48 hours before it's voted on. So conversations this weekend revolved around how to shut this turkey down. Aides expect some "Hail Mary" offers on Sunday, and there's something on the stove that could be inoffensive to both sides. But the committee may not even have a fig-leaf agreement to announce. Total, embarrassing failure. The markets and the country will hate it.
The most likely scenario: The co-chairs, Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) and Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas), on Monday will issue a short joint statement with the basic message: "This marriage is over." Other possibilities are to hold a short going-out-of-business hearing, or to vote down a Republican proposal and a Democratic proposal. But one aide says: "Few, if any, one either side, want a final, ugly food fight ... The chairs are working to figure out how to put the appropriate period on the sentence and do so in the most dignified manner possible. ... [Don't expect] a showdown of dueling voters and a ton of fingerpointing."
For weeks the committee has been stalemated over taxes with Democrats refusing to extend the Bush tax cuts as part of an agreement, and Republicans unwilling to do so without it (though even their offers of new revenues didn't have the support of many in their caucus).

We just need a super-DUPER committee to get this all solved. Big government solves all problems!
Our government now represents Nihilism. There are no laws. No deadlines. Money means nothing. Debt means nothing. Nothing is true.
And government can do whatever the eff it wants.
Pfft...
THIS WAS A DECEPTION FROM THE START
They wanted the ‘automatic’ cuts that will gut the military, and the tax increases
So they get what they wanted all along, by purposely failing
Obama came up with the SuperCommittee idea, to point the finger and blame for his big spending programs.
We need to send an overwhelming message in 2012 that this "politics as usual" crap has got to end.
I’m not sure why anyone believed that a smaller subset of the same dysfunctional body would come up with any less dysfunctional of a result.
The Democrats keep looking at the poor job approval ratings for congress, so they’re trying to paint the congress as being controlled by the Republicans. Of course, their lapdogs in the old media are helping them. “Things would be much better if we could just get rid of these obstructionist Republicans and do what we want to do.”
Why, we’ve got problems...right here in River City! That’s Problem with a capital P and that rhymes with D and that stands for Democrat!
Failure ordered by Obama.
We have to be the dumbest people on earth. Every one on that commitee should be booted in 2012 and the nutjob who came up with that idea.
This has been the plan all along. Why even pretend that this is somehow ‘news’?
“They wanted the automatic cuts “
Yes, because the automatic cuts avoids a government shutdown.
If the congress worked as intended the House would pass a budget with it’s R majority and the Senate would not pass a budget because it’s R minority would filibuster.
A budget close to the House budget- with it’s Tea Party influence- would result. Unless the Senate was willing to shut the government down.
The RINOs and Dems teamed up to prevent that from happening.
$1.2 Trillion? Do they not understand that we are $15 Trillion in debt? They are looking at Military and Medicare cuts. Yes, these programs need to be looked at but what about everything else our government wastes money on? Like all the regulations that drive companies out of business?
Interesting "sports" analysis.[pages 1,2]
Pick Your Play:
You can bet Obama will be fingerpointing.
The dirty little secret is the auto cuts don’t start till 2013!
