Read the extensive press release below.
Newt Gingrich Has Failed to Meet a Consistently Pro-Life Standard
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has failed to uphold a consistently pro-life stance throughout his career in public life. Gingrich has positioned himself as open to watering down the Republican Party’s commitment to the inalienable right to life and failed as the leader of the U.S. House of Representatives to stem the flow of taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood, the largest U.S. provider of abortions.
(snip)
Under Newt Gingrich’s tenure as Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives 1995-1999, the federal government channeled $587,073,070 to Planned Parenthood components – more than half a billion dollars – and his Republican-dominated House never voted to bar taxpayer funding to this largest U.S. abortion provider.
Total federal funding for Planned Parenthood Federation of America and affiliates, International Planned Parenthood Federation and associations, and the Alan Guttmacher Institute during FY1995 compared with the following four fiscal years budgeted under Gingrich’s speakership: PPFA's annual federal funding went from $120 million in FY1995, the fiscal year budgeted before Gingrich came to power, to $125.8 million in FY1999, the last fiscal year budget Gingrich negotiated with President Clinton. IPPF and Guttmacher taxpayer funding decreased, but funding for PPFA, the largest domestic abortion provider, remained fairly constant.

I agree with her about Gingrich’s failure to provide equal protection for all, as the oath of office requires.
And yet, she too supports legislation that ends with “and then you can kill the baby.”

‘We will in fact be responsive to changing circumstances, Gingrich said, citing polls that gauge which abortion restrictions are favored by the public. (Associated Press, 3/9/1990)

I sure hope the people of Iowa vote strongly in support of our Lady in the Race to be President.

What makes me think that Bachmann - and Santorum for that matter -are not very smart is how they are running this campaign.
Any dolt can stand back and see that the way to the top is to be the most effective at attacking big government and liberals in general and the media and Obama in specific.
And yet, like desperate little kids not getting love on the playground, Bachmann and Santorum keep attacking other candidates on the notion that they are not socially conservative enough.
Get a clue folks: our problem is Obama and liberal big government. And understanding that is the way to the top of the heap. No one has gained any traction in this whole race by attacking other people in the field.
No one.

Here, here. Not to mention that when they point out moderations in Newt’s 30 years of commentary, they make him MORE palatable as a general election candidate. Newt got where he is by attacking Obama and the media, and refusing to attack his fellow Republicans. Bachmann’s long slide began the night she decided to go after Rick Perry and Mitt. If she can’t catch on to the dynamic at work, she is not smart enough to be President.

You are right, and this is so friggin obvious to me. I can’t see why anyone would argue otherwise. When Bachmann, Perry and Mitt started their ridiculous little cat fights - which happened right when Palin announced she was out - Cain first and then Newt picked up all those voters. They left Bachmann and Perry (who had almost 50% between them at one point) for mostly the two folks who had not fired a single shot at other Republicans.
Santorum, who was also snarking at fellow Republicans, got NONE of those voters even though he is philosophically positioned perfectly for a Palin or Bachmann or Perry voter looking for another candidate.
So simple. So obvious. So much common sense. Maybe that’s why the candidates with all the high paid consultants are MISSING IT.

I like Bachmann when she’s attacking Obama. Not so much when she’s attacking other Republican candidates who are not Mitt Romney.
To: Berlin_Freeper
Interesting: that ad still targets Obama and the liberals as the main culprit - and sort of has certain other GOP rivals as secondary targets. Not sure how it will work, but at least it’s not as pathetic as his attack on who mows Mitt’s lawn and so on.

Just to be safe, we need to do everything we can to get as many Tea Partiers elected to Congress as possible as a hedge against a RINO like Romney who won't hesitate for a second to poke us in the eye every chance he gets or a go-along-to-get-along Republican like Newt.
Even if we Bachmann wins, she'll need an army of Tea Partiers to help her pass whatever agenda she has.
What is her agenda, by the way?
This is what bugs me about this race so far. Instead of bashing each other, these people should be advancing their ideas. That's what we're looking for; something to vote for, not someone to vote against.

Newt Quickly learned that is is bad to go after fellow Republicans - after his criticism of Paul Ryan. There was a brutal repsonse to his criticism from all quarters.
Unfortunately - Bachmann and Santorum still have not learned that.

That’s what everybody likes - and why she’s too stupid - yes I said it, stupid - to see it is beyond me. Shows me also that there’s a bit more “politics as usual” inside Bachmann than she would like us to know.
The “politics as usual” crowd would say “do whatever you have to do to win the primary, then voters will forget and you can run a different kind of general election race.” That totally ignores that people are more in tuned, more into social media and videos, and more fed up than ever before. She is way behind the times.
