Poll Shows Herman Cain Leads with Female Independent & Republican Voters
KCRG News (Cedar Rapids, IA) ^ | 11/18/11 | Jillian Petrus

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa- The KCRG-Gazette-Iowa State University poll of more than 1200 registered Iowa voters came out Thursday.

Three candidates took nearly two-thirds of the overall vote.

Herman Cain was at the top, with 24.5 percent. Not far behind, Texas Representative Ron Paul. Mitt Romney took about 16 percent. All other candidates polled in the single digits. When asked for a second choice, voters picked “can’t decide” more than 20 percent of the time, leaving a large gap of uncertainty in the race.

In a somewhat surprising twist, Herman Cain polled better among women than other candidates in the poll. The results gathered during rampant criticism of Cain for sexual harassment allegations made against him in the 90’s.

Cathy Grawe is a registered republican and Herman Cain supporter. She’s met Cain twice in person and says both times she was very impressed with him.

“In his heart, I know he’d make intelligent decisions good decisions,” Grawe said. The Coralville grandmother says she was not swayed by the allegations telling us she believes it’s mostly just politics.

“They’ve seen enough character assassination to know you have to take everything with a grain of salt,” she says.

Not everyone is convinced Cain can shake the allegations and capture independent and undecided voters.

“I just don’t think he could really, because it isn’t a good thing to hear about him,” said Yvonne Theel, a democrat from Marion.

“I think it’s going to be harder for women, because it’s a more sensitive issue,” said Angie Johnson also from Marion and a democrat.

But Grawe says she firmly believes, if Cain can make it through the caucuses, the allegations might take a back seat to his economic policies.

“As little traction as it’s gotten,” said Grawe, “I tend to think it won’t come back up again.”

You should read the poll. I even posted the link (as did you), and then provided extensive quotes FROM the poll (which you did not), in case you found it difficult to click on links and read an entire article.

One thing I find funny is that when MNJOhnie responds to my posts, he almost never uses the “reply” button on them. Instead, he goes back and posts to the main (first) comment.

He apparently is afraid that people will find it too easy to learn he isn’t actually responding to anything I have written. He just makes random responses tagged to my name.

It’s gotten to be quite a running joke (not MNJohnnie, just his inability to use standard posting protocol).

READ the poll. I gave you the link.

Again, this is from the link your posted:

"The poll was compiled through phone interviews Nov. 1-13, and surveyed 979 registered Republicans and 277 registered independents. Of those polled, 377 (30 percent) stated that they definitely or probably would attend the Republican caucus Jan. 3."

I'll even break it down and say it's in paragraph 7 of your own hyperlink.

You talk more sh!t than anybody I've seen on here. I quoted the actual press release for the poll detailing the breakdown of those polled. You didn't like that I pointed this out, therefore you start calling me a liar, shameless, blah, blah, blah. I even gave you the paragraph from which I got the information from the link YOU posted. If you don't like the breakdown of those polled, take it up with the polling company.

..These erratic polls can cause a migraine--Cain is up, Cain is down, climbing, falling, he's finished, he's recovering--if he can survive until Iowa, he can win it...

Yes, people keep posting new polls showing Cain is down. And each time someone posts THIS poll again, and “hey, he’s back up again”.

I figure that will work for at least another day or two.

I wonder how Cain does with black voters.

That subject is tabooooo! MSM does not want you to see their soft underbelly exposed! Besides it would be racist ya know...

He doesn’t. As our nominee in 2012, Cain would get the same percent of African American voters as McPain got in 2008.

EAGLES UP!

There are more and more positive articles on Herman emerging these days in the foreign press now that the smear fell flat on it's face and exposed as a pitiful, desperate fraud. I am going to source them and place them here on FR. For some of them, (in foreign languages) will have them machine translated and then cleaned up/synopsized.

It could be worse - instead of rooting for Cain, you could be one of those Perry supporters who gets wildly excited when Perry gets over 10% in a poll or beats out Ron Paul for 4th place and thinks that Perry is finally making a comeback, only to see Perry drop back down to single digits and 5th place in the next few polls.

Haven't been a Perry fan in years, but I personally hope that he stays in it and doesn't drop after the first few primaries. I think he's damaging himself if he wants to run for yet another reelection in 2014.

Iowa doesn't have enough blacks to make it worth taking a poll. The ones they do have mostly live in liberal 'ratDesMoines, so no point in asking them about Cain.
