The latest Fox News poll shows Newt Gingrich leading the Republican presidential field, edging Mitt Romney. Gingrich now has the support of 23 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, compared with 22 percent for Romney, 15 percent for Herman Cain, 8 percent for Ron Paul, 7 percent for Rick Perry, 6 percent for Michele Bachmann, 3 percent for Jon Huntsman, and 2 percent for Rick Santorum.

Support for Gingrich has almost doubled over the past three weeks. Over that span, Gingrich is up 11 percentage points, Bachmann and Huntsman are up 3 points apiece, Romney is up 2 points, Paul and Santorum are down 1 point apiece, Perry is down 3 points, and Cain is down 9 points. The number of respondents who are either undecided or want someone else has dropped from 17 to 14 percent.

Shame on Fox News

Only 370 Registered Voters?

Any sample less then 800 likely voters is a worthless media push poll being spun to drive the story line, not a serious poll.

I expect these sort of sleazy tactics from the Leftist media. I thought Fox was better then this.

Be interesting to see what happens now that all the current baggage in Newt’s Lobbying history is being aired out in the media to see how well this current push polls stand up over time. Newt got $1.6 million from Fanniee/Freddie. Newt was paid to lobby for Bush’s Medicare part D bill.

Just what else is lurking under the surface to bite Newt?

Another day, another no. 1.

Notice though that there is no break-out candidate. They are bunched together.

Isn’t Newt the one who urged McCain to return to DC to vote for the first trillion we tossed to the crooks?

A reminder from Coulter about Newt...”In addition to having an affair in the middle of Clinton’s impeachment; apologizing to Jesse Jackson on behalf of J.C. Watts — one of two black Republicans then in Congress –- for having criticized “poverty pimps,” and then inviting Jackson to a State of the Union address; cutting a global warming commercial with Nancy Pelosi; supporting George Soros’ candidate Dede Scozzafava in a congressional special election; appearing in public with the Rev. Al Sharpton to promote nonspecific education reform; and calling Paul Ryan’s plan to save Social Security “right-wing social engineering,” we found out this week that Gingrich was a recipient of Freddie Mac political money.”

Aw, come on, you know you want to cuss the Tea Party folks now that they aren't joining your party ...

I see you're calling your perfect buds to join the circle. It's the spittlegeist you know, right?

Newt isn’t a teaparty candidate. He is an insider’s insider.

Yeah, thanks to the false sexual harrassment claims against Cain.
I can’t tell you how close I am to just quitting the entire process...between an ignorant voting base, a well planned attack apparattus of the lame stream media and an apathy beyond belief I seriously believe we are in final throes of the death of the Republic.

I just cannot see him winning the election. I think Obama beats him by 4-7% in votes. Mainly cause people will just stay home, uninterested in the republican candidate.

Nothing new for Fox at all. This is the very same tactic Fox used against Sarah Palin and she still polled in third & fourth place *undeclared* with a margin of 5% error which put in ties with the leaders...LOL.

You left out where he endorsed the concept that the government can force you to buy health insurance.

Karl Rove was on FOX earlier defending Gingrich.

The establishment has found their new go-to guy.

Rove and tea party. There is a combo you don’t see every day.
