The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is weeks away from launching an unmanned aerial asset to help deputies fight crime. The ShadowHawk helicopter is six-feet long, weighs fifty pounds and fits in the back of an SUV.
“We can put it over a fire, put it over ahazmat spill, put it over a house with a suspect barricaded inside and literally give the incident commander the ability to look at the entire scene with a bird’s eye view, ” Chief Deputy Randy McDaniel said.
Sheriff’s deputies will fly the ShadowHawk with nothing more than a laptop computer and a remote control similar to that used for video games.
It’s equipped with an infrared camera that can clearly read a license plate from an elevation of twelve hundred feet. The helicopter cost upwards of $300,000 and was purchased with a grant from the federal government.

Yep, another grant from Homeland Security. And you have to wonder just how many evil people that this guy will catch with his toy.
A couple of years ago....town up the road from where I grew up....figured out how to milk money off Homeland Security. The one-cop town sent a grant request in for a set of $15k night-vision goggles. It didn’t go through the town council, and no one knew about the deal until after the goggles actually arrived. His wording on the application said he’d use it observing illegal drug sales. This is in a small town of 400 people....and no one could remember anyone being arrested for drug sales in the last twenty years. So the town council made “Barney” put the toy up for sale. Well...there are special requirements in this case, and he could only sell it to another police department. It took months of advertising to finally get rid of the goggles.
Down the road from where I grew up, in another town near a state park by a lake....they approached Homeland Security and asked for a speed boat. There was a dam on this lake and they were convinced that evil men would come eventually to blow up the dam....from the water (not the road over the dam, which would have been the obvious way). So they got around $15k in their grant and bought the boat. The 4-man police force bumped up to around six....and they started drunk-boating schemes on the lake on weekends....bringing in tens of thousands during the summer months on drunk boating. They still operate the boat, and it easily pays for the extra cops, and dumps thousands into the cities revenue plan. Naturally, they’ve never seen any Islamic guys in the lake (I suspect most Muslim guys don’t fish, so the dam threat probably was bogus).
That is where your money is going and why the Super Committee is having so many problems. They need to buy thousands of boats each year for small towns around America to hunt down drunk boaters.
It is not really a weapon until a Philadelphia mayor used it to burn down a part of his city.

Could it therefore be assumed that those living within US jurisdiction could all be called "people"???

Strange you mention that, I saw that with my own eyes and was educating some in my Bible study about the MOVE house and fire yesterday. The ows remind me of MOVE.
The same way any unwarranted surveillance does. It gives a third dimension from which government snoops can be looking into citizens' private affairs.
So it would seem.
That’s why it is important to stand up to these “innocent” intrusions...
A lawyer freind of mine gave me the proper phrase-ology for dealing with “The Question”...
“Sir/Ma’am, do you mind if I take a look in your vehicle?”
Your answer should never contain the word “Yes” or “No” in it, as your answer will be recorded in most jurisdictions that mic their officers...
“I do NOT concent to a search of my vehicle or person, am I FREE to go?” (and leave it at that...)
If you say the word “Yes” in the context or assumption that you are agreeing to a search, that is ALL the excuse they need...If you say “No”, it means you don’t mind them looking in their vehicle...
So be careful what you say in this regard...Don’t raise yourr voice, don’t sneer or disrespect the officer in this investigation, and if they still do it, well, then you have made your objections, and they are noted as evidence, for your future lawsuit...
BTW, a sneeky little thing you can do is if you are asked to get out of the vehicle, tell anyone with you to not open or unlock the doors after you get out, unless you give them permission to do so...
If you are alone, then get out, obey the officers command to this point, make sure you lock your door(s) and put the keys quickly in your pocket, out of habit...
That way they have to get a warrant to access your personal property...Now they can claim “officer safety” or some other assinine “probable cause” issue...Then thats ok, you’ve made your refusal known, and the ride will then begin...
I’m not a lawyer, but I do get some good tidbits (from time to time from them)...
Of course I am ready for the naysayers to try and debunk this advise, so taking the advise I was given is your own choice...
Bottom line, most Law Enforcment officers are not a problem, and I have a lot of friends who wear the badge...Most don’t have a problem with this advise, adn most will back down when they realise there is not a problem they need to press any further when “we” gamed this senario out...
As much as they are commissioned to enforce the law, we (citizens) have the right to refuse a search, and protect our privacy...What happens after the gameboard is set here, is up to the officer or deputy asking the question...
Just be ready for the ride of your life if they press the issue...Stand your ground and do not let the casual occurances lead them to believe everyone out there is subject or acceptable to unwarranted searches...

There is a recnt story about this guy who has found several different GPS trackers on his SUV over the last year...
The courts are reviewing the constitutionality of this investigative technique, without a warrant being issued before hand...
