Representatives of Penn State's campus police and State College police said Wednesday they have no record of having received any report from a Penn State assistant football coach about his having witnessed an alleged rape of a boy by former coach Jerry Sandusky.
The police departments' statements don't corroborate those made in an e-mail from the assistant coach, Mike McQueary, who said he witnessed the alleged incident in a Penn State locker room in 2002.
Lisa M. Powers, a Penn State spokeswoman, told CNN that the university police has no record of any police report filed by McQueary. "Today was the first we have heard of this through the media," Powers told CNN in an e-mail.
State College police also had no reports from McQueary, according to State College Police Chief Tom King. State College is the town surrounding the university campus.
But, in the e-mail obtained by The Morning Call newspaper of Allentown, Pennsylvania, McQueary said that he helped stop the assault and talked with police about it.
"I did stop it, not physically, but made sure it was stopped when I left that locker room," McQueary wrote in the November 8 e-mail to a former classmate.
"No one can imagine my thoughts or wants to be in my shoes for those 30-45 seconds," McQueary said. "Trust me."

Wanna guess assistant coach is now trying to cover his rear and his destroyed reputation and future law suits? He should have known that law enforcement would have check and made a statement re this. Or was he dumb enough to think his “friend” would not tell someone what he said on the email? Dumb and dummer.
This is getting weird.
Can we get real cops involved in this, maybe the FBI?
Could be that the law is trying to cover their rears too. After all, they knew about Sandusky’s issues in 1998 and did nothing.

I’m beginning the ‘internal’ (campus) police were only involved. They are quite a different entity as with my past experience at Bama. I can also attest to that at Vandy when I was an Alabama Band member visiting there. The jurisdiction seems to be separate.
I hope that one of the outcomes of this investigation is the disbanding of every University and College Police Department.
With the Federal mandate to make crime stats public University PD’s are under tremendous pressure to avoid taking reports so that their public stats look “good” to prospective students and their parents.
Frankly, they cannot be trusted to do their job.
By allowing McQueery to be destroyed in the media, the idiots who run the state of Pennsylvania are going to watch Sandusky walk.
So how is it the DA had info on it since 98 and more reports later on that went investigated?? Not to mention the DA went missing in 05.
The DA and his brother went missing/got killed.
Coincidence? I think not.
If the bottom is ever reached (and it won’t IMO) in this case, the death penalty would look tame by comparison.
How did they know to question McQueary for the Grand Jury?
Aren’t they the Justice Department re Eric Holder?
It is now known that both the campus cops, and the local cops were under orders to shut the f*** up. So who told them?
Perhaps there is one decent soul in that crowd that kept records.
