Stop the EPA’s attack on property rights!
AFP ^ | 11-15-11 | AFP

President Obama wants to control all the land and all the water in the United States.

Legislation that would have deleted the word "navigable" from the federal Clean Water Act and given the EPA and Army Corps of Engineers jurisdiction over every drop of moisture in the country crashed and burned last Congress. But Obama's EPA, as usual, won't take no for an answer, and is now attempting to ignore two Supreme Court decisions, commonsense, and the American people and vastly expand federal Clean Water Act jurisdiction via guidance document.

AFP activists put more than 21,000 comments into the regulatory docket telling the EPA to back off. But now we need to make sure Congress gets the message too.

“Land…cannot be treated as an ordinary asset, controlled by individuals and subject to the pressures and inefficiencies of the market. Private land ownership is also a principal instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth, therefore contributes to social injustice.”

“jurisdiction over every drop of moisture in the country”

You mean including the moisture that’s inside my skin? I hope that when they read the new law, they cannibalize one another before they notice the rest of us.

This kind of crap makes people in places like Florida, Louisiana, Michigan and Minnesota nervous.

You make the damp spots off limits and you can effectively evacuate whole states.

An article on EPA’s efforts which haven’t changed much in the last few years. Its still an agency out-of-control - my take on this from a few years back:

I’ll bet they won’t be as forgiving of “undocumented wells” as they try to be of “undocumented aliens”.

“have had their cases sent back to the appeals court for more “fact finding.” In the meantime, they face mounting legal bills, a murky outcome and a regulatory community that is out of control.”

Gross. People work all their lives to pursue what they think is good in life, and we get Larry, Moe and Curly pissing all over their efforts. Our executive Branch is to the pursuit of Happiness what “Occupy Wall Street” was to Zuccotti Park.

Pinging the Agenda21 folks!

This thread is dealing with the EPA efforts to control that puddle in your back yard as a navigable waterway.

The link of the article is to the Americans for Prosperity web site. I have not explored this web site in detail, and the article link takes you to the “get involved” page where they are asking for contact info so you can have them contact your representatives. I am not advocating that anyone here should do that. That is up to each one if that seems right to you. I would not do it without REALLY vetting the web site thoroughly.

Having said that, however, the AFP site does seem to have some interesting information, and it is for that reason I exercise the ping. They seem to be dealing with a number of the topics covered by Agenda21. They also seem to be seeking to unite to do something about them. I would be interested to see what others who are more knowledgeable than me might know of them.

I did find a link to this article on the site which is the topic of the thread. It is an opinion piece by Phil Kerpen from April 2010:

http://dailycaller.com/2010/04/21/oberstar%E2%80%99s-water-bill-sets-up-biggest-epa-power-grab-yet/

If you want to be on or off the Agenda 21 ping list, please notify me by Freepmail. It is a relatively low volume list in which we have been exploring the UN Agenda21 and related topics. We have collected our studies with threads, links, and discussions on the Agenda 21 thread which can be found here:
