You wont believe me until you click play but this is much worse than Perrys brain lock at the debate last week. Perry lost his train of thought; Cain doesnt have a train at all here, to the point where he needs confirmation from the interviewer of what Obamas position on Libya actually was.
Eventually he produces some boilerplate about not supporting the opposition until youre sure whos in it and of course not making a decision as president until he has all the information, which is a standard Cain fallback talking point whenever he gets in trouble on a question, but the first two minutes or so are pure agony. The board actually took pity on him, I think, by not following up.
And that still only barely qualifies as the worst answer he gave today. Heres what he told them when asked, predictably enough, about Scott Walkers righteous crusade against public employee unions:
"On the issue of collective bargaining, Cain said he supported the right of public employees to bargain collectively." But not collective hijacking. What I mean by that, if they have gotten so much for so many years and its going to bankrupt the state, I dont think thats good. It appears that in some instances, they really dont care.
Cain also appeared to be unclear on the issue of collective bargaining as it involves federal employees. Asked if he thought federal employees should have the ability to bargain collectively, Cain said: They already have it, dont they?

They will try to slice and dice Newt regardless... he remains our best chance at getting our country back and Obama out of our White House.
You could have stopped at "It doesn't matter", because it does seem very often it doesn't matter to Cain supporters WHAT his position is on something.
Do you even KNOW what his position is on the subject? I know what mine is, and I certainly disagree with what you claim he believes, but I've learned not to trust Cain supporters to actually understand what their candidate's position is, until it's clarified multiple times.
The UNIONS say that their ‘rights’ have been taken away. To the union, the idea that they can’t bargain on work rules, wages, and benefits mean they have NO rights. Herman would have had to been blind to not see all the signs about just this fact.
Also, for Cain to not know that federal employees have no collevtive bargaining ‘rights’ also shows a lack of depth.
Well, since Palin isn’t running;
Since Cain has now disqualified himself;
Since Perry has disqualified himself;
Since Bachman is 4%;
Since Gingrich has been chummy with Pelosi;
Guess we gotta vote for Romney...oh, he’s had MA’s Obamacare...hmmm
I guess we have to vote for Obama or leave our card blank.
Do you get my point???
BS? I saw the video. No one is making this up. See it for yourself.
What goes around comes around, often unmercifully. That’s why is a good idea to not become too blinded by any candidate’s bright lights.
We have 7 deeply flawed clowns...sad but its the truth.
Cain doesn't have to acknowledge in any way that unions think that that position, and the legislation, says something it doesn't say. It's not pathetic to ignore one's political opponent's misrepresentations in making your own argument.
Also, for Cain to not know that federal employees have no collevtive bargaining rights also shows a lack of depth.
This is not accurate.
Federal employees do have collective bargaining rights, but those rights are limited to exactly what Governor Walker limited CB to in WI:
from HERE:
While labor unions that represent federal workers do have some collective bargaining rights, provisions in the Civil Service Reform Act passed under President Carter in 1978 restrict federal employees from using it for pay or pensions and federal workers cannot be forced into a union or required to pay dues.
Compare that to the excerpt I posted to you in my last post. It's an almost identical situation in WI.
Cain took his time to answer the question
Its high time for honestly, No, he did not “take his time”, he even admitted to getting lost in his head. Ultimately he did have a good answer.
What the heck, these guys get asked a LOT of questions and its not surprising they can have a brain freeze now and then. The only one that this has not happened to has been running for years, Mitt. Nobama even does it with a teleprompter.
I thought so as well! I like that he took his time.
Take your platitudes somewhere else. I never gloated over Perry’s “moment” and I don’t ridicule other candidates.
He resigned, IIRC.
RUN Sarah RUN!!!
It’s no worse than watching Obama when he goes off teleprompter. And I cut Cain some slack on this one. I say let’s forgive him and see how he does when all this whole “sexual allegation” thing has finally blown over. Can you imagine the stress he must be under? The other candidates do not have a target on their backs and have not been singled out for destruction by the left.
It’s a lot easier than watching Obama when his teleprompter goes off!
LOL...My daughter is a teacher, I have a sister who is a teacher. For all practical purposes collective bargaining does not exist in Wisconsin for public employees. That is why they demostrated for months on end, why the Demo Rats in the state senate fled to Illinois, and most importantly why a LOT of unions are decertifying because the union can’t pull the dues out of the members paychecks anymore.
Cain’s answer gives no indication he understands the issue, especially the nuance of what has happened with the public employees in this state.
