Don't underestimate Newt Gingrich, warns Dan Rather during an MSNBC roundtable discussion today.
"Anyone who has covered Newt Gingrich over the years knows better than to underestimate him," said Rather, referencing his political comeback. "Newt Gingrich on the move politically is as dangerous as a wounded wolverine."
Rather added that Jon Huntsman was the best candidate for the GOP in the 2012 general election, but would have a hard time winning the Republican primary.
Newt is full of quotes. Nearly every speech is liberally sprinkled with literary citations. Curious how quotes from the Bible are never among them. I doubt Newt would have the slighest idea what Prov 26:4-5 says or is even about. But I guarantee you Herman Cain does.
The winds of nebulous promise, the billowed clouds cumulus, of mist and air and little else, those too the models of which from Peggy Noonan inspire, and inspire greatly.

Dan Rather. Dan Rather. That name rings a bell. Where HAVE I heard that name before?
I hate it when that happens.

In the drinking game, you have to take a drink whenever Dan lets one of these drop.
But it would be better if the other participants went into Rather mode and quoted or coined their own "Ratherisms."
Without explanation, Prov 26:4-5 is, on its surface, a contradiction. But it explains exactly how to address liberals who try to argue on baseless surface issues that are simply a cover for their real agenda.
That's because Huntsman is Obama's sock puppet.

Yes. but if he wins... he will be OUR wounded wolverine!

You have to wonder at Rather’s choice of animal here. I wonder how often Dan interacts with wolverines.

I suspect that Huntsman would be honored to receive Dan’s “blessing.”
People in Wharton, TX, moved Dan’s boyhood home to their museum. I think it’s in Ron Paul’s district.
