While I can't imagine why, some New York City residents are just sick and tired of the Wall Street Occupiers -- and would prefer they pack up their Zuccotti Park tent city and head on home, wherever home might be. NBC New York reports:
Downtown residents and business owners are organizing a protest of the protest after two months of Lower Manhattan being occupied by the Wall Street demonstration.
Angry over all-day drumming, people urinating and defecating on the streets and verbal attacks from protesters, organizers say they will rally at City Hall Monday to send officials a message. …
Businesses have complained for weeks that the encampment is causing them to lose money, although a few have made money off the protests, as donors from all over the country have sent food from nearby restaurants to the movement.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg has defended the protesters, saying they mostly stick to the park and are primarily law-abiding. That might be — but, nationwide, that’s far from true. The original New York City occupation sparked a movement that can be truthfully characterized as violent. As of today, OWS protesters across the country have been responsible for at least 232 incidents of violence, vandalism or other outrageous behavior. Furthermore, as BigGovernment’s John Nolte points out, the protest must also bear partial responsibility for collateral damage. The Occupy movement drains law enforcement resources. Just as of mid-to-late October, shootings in NYC were way up — and no doubt the diminished police presence outside of Zuccotti Park contributed to that. The protests are a public safety issue — and Bloomberg would be justified if he took a strong position against the flagship protest that spearheaded the lawlessness nationwide.
They need to be reminded that they are the face of the Democratic Party.
Let’s TAKE OUT THE TRASH! Start at 1600. Then the unions and leftist pricks controlling education. Scows available. 120 mi offshore. Dump!
Hey... that isn’t fair... the OWSers are the 99%!
Turns out the rest of New York is that other 1%. No wonder they’ve run roughshod over NYC like an army of occupation!
Go figure.
It would be funny if the police showed up and dragged them off to the pokey
They should feel fortunate those terrorist Tea Party extremists aren’t involved./sc
I think the camping adventure will be ending soon.
Highly paid consultants are now saying that they have become counterproductive. That an orchestrated series of unpredictable flash-mob chaos would be more effective.
Since OWS is being run out of the AFL-CIO basement I suspect the orders to bug out will be forthcoming soon.
Actually, it would be likely, because this group has bank accounts and wealth that can be seized, they can be MADE to pay fines imposed as opposed to OWS anarchists and bums, NYC will never get a dime outta THEM.
The fool is setting up New York City for one of the worst Christmas shopping seasons ever.
Who would want to take their cash and cards to New York City now?
TWB
ANYONE who makes noise when people are trying to sleep, eat, work, worship, or just plain live is TRASH!!!! It’s high time to take out the trash!!!!
I’ve posted this several times already, but it bears repeating until the “Occupy” “protests” are over!!!! ALL of them!!!!
Think how much tax money it took for extra police, extra city workers, extra EMS and how much it will still cost to clean up the filth they leave behind!
