A Suffolk University law professor has issued a blistering e-mail calling plans to collect care packages for U.S. troops shameful. Professor Michael Avery also questioned the intent of an American flag hanging in the law schools atrium (snip)I think it is shameful that it is perceived as legitimate to solicit in an academic institution for support for men and women who have gone overseas to kill other human beings, Avery wrote in an e-mail to his colleagues. The United States may well be the most war prone country in the history of civilization.

A fully developed case of Academentia.
I would like for the good Professor to name a country, that after spending national blood and treasure to defeat an enemy, has then helped them rebuild their county and has not left behind an occupation garrison. That’s right! The good ole U.S.A.
I like the way you think.
I wish there were more people in California like you. I’d seriously consider moving back after a nearly 20 year exile here in the State of Maine.
Tom Kratman knows how to deal with these people.
He needs to go back to the University of Moscow, U.S.S.R. and stay there!!
If you go to Suffolk University’s website and look at the full time faculy members, it will give you their education background. Surprise, surprise...Avery attended University of Moscow, U.S.S.R. 1968-1969.

Anasazi is a Navajo word that means, approximately, Ancient Enemies.
The Anasazi, of course, are probably the ancestors of the Zuni and other Pueblo peoples. And the Navajo are sort of the (comparatively) peaceful branch of the Apache.
Recent archaeological discoveries have pretty well blown a hole in the theory beloved of anthropologists that the Anasazi were peaceful. They held this belief despite the remarkably obvious defensive nature of the cliff dwellings. Some tried to claim these highly inconvenient dwelling were built to trap solar energy!
Recent evidence has shown that some, at least, of the Anasazi were into cannibalism and perhaps human sacrifice.
If my neighbors got into that, I'd move into a cliff dwelling myself!
“Just thinking out loud but I wonder how he views abortion? Being a liberal I suspect he doesnt view it as murder.”
Being a liberal, he probably views abortion as a SACRAMENT!!
Woohoo - lets be really imperial then. You know, go in like the Romans. Kill the men, loot the treasure, rape the women, take their daughters for slaves.
oh wait, we are not doing that? Never mind. /sarc
The university at which he is no doubt tenured agrees with him. Why would they fire him? Penn State is not the only University that has evolved into a Marxist sewer.
Truth is not important to Marxists. Good is what promotes Marxism. Bad is anything that disagrees with Marxism. There is nothing else.
I’m more right wing than conservative and unfortunately, I work in the Hollywood industry and our studio is located deep inside fag territory. FR is where I have to vent as I cannot do it during work.
At least in Maine, the general language is English.
Surprise, surprise.
Boston talk host Howie Carr *WRKO Boston etc.) is doing some talk about this now. “Does this guy think that this is a perfect world, that everybody loves us? We were attacked on 9/11”. Caller: “Totally disgusting. Shame on this guy. These kids, they’re all volunteers trying to do the right thing, get the bad guys who got us on 9/11”.
Carr: “He’s enjoying the freedoms that we have, that these soldiers helped defend...” (Sen Scott Brown, R-MA,will be on the Fox 25 Boston news tonight about this. Brown is a longtime member of the National guard.) Another caller: “These soldiers are fighting for our rights to dissent, and this guy is attacking them...”
Sen. Brown is on with Howie now
“If you saw the faces of these soldiers when they get these packages from home and how thankful our troops are to get a little bit of home...We just passed the hire-a-vet bill in Congress. We have someone like this who thinks this is shameful to support these guys with care packages, gimme a break. We’re a country for good, we always have been. We stand against evil, like in WW II. There’s a time when we say, listen, enough, we have an obligation I think to go and stop that (evil).”
Brown suggests people contact the folks at Suffolk doing this drive and help in every way they can. “Get involved.
That’s how we can fight back.”
This guy needs a time out.
