Mitt Romney has a growing lead in the race for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, and almost half of the party's voters expect him to be the nominee, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.

Twenty-eight percent of Republicans backed the former Massachusetts governor, giving him a lead of 8 percentage points over his nearest challenger Herman Cain in the poll, taken November 10-11.

You have it pretty much dead on. Unless something happens to Romney between now and January, Republicans are going to hold their nose and vote for him. Republicans have been doing this every 4 years since Reagan. It’s unfortunate, but he is probably the best chance they have to beat Obama and that trumps everything else.

you should have heard Whoraldo last night. Praising Romeny and giving slight credit to Newt but had Gloria ALL RED on to further attack Cain. When Whoraldo asked if there was anything further that was going to come out damning Cain or more women possibly, ALL RED just said you’ll have to wait and see or buy the book, something to that effect. That right there was proof positive they are making the crap up as they go along. I wish you could bring charges against that bimbo and ALL RED for defaming Cain they way they did.

More like he’d pick Gingrich, but not for the reason you mentioned, but because Newt is an establishment Republican and he is bringing things back in order to appease the powers that be (the old guard) in the Republican party.

Is Cain just a niche candidate? Loved here, but essentially unknown to the average voter?

As much as I like Cain, I’m starting to think he’s nothing more than a novelty. Pity.

He is great for the conservative movement but he is not presidential material.

Maybe Obama is attacking Romneya not Cain so his “white half” isn’t accused of racism? ;>)

There were no personal attacks on Cain in my post. Nothing I posted wasn't true and common knowledge.

When I read the results of this poll my reaction was: “What? They must have mistakenly put in Romney's name for Cain.” Once again the media is in full panic mode trying desperately to take the energy created by Cain and Newt away.

Do they really think we believe Mittens is leading in the polls? Newt and Cain are feeding this RINO his lunch. This smells of panic and desperation from the Leftists, attempting to sway public opinion.

Hey media, here's a little truth for you: You weren't able to destroy Cain with these bogus sexual harassment allegations, and you won't be able to convince us that the RINO extraordinaire Mittens is leading in any credible poll.

Spare us the hysterics. You don’t post anything but childish personal attacks at Cain. Apparently you lack the intellectual ability to make a case FOR your candidate and instead can only behave like a child.

All anyone has to do is search your posting history.

Childish personal attack at Cain is all you have EVER posted.

You have yet to make a rational factual argument against him.

Polls mean squat at this point—they are out there to meet the MSM and their elect Obama mantra. Don’t believe them. Most Americans are not that interested YET. A whole lot is going to happen until we pull the levers in November of 2012.
1. Obama might not run—he may be pushed out by the Dems.
2. Hillary might run.
3. International events might take over the headlines like:
A) War in the Middle East with Iran.
B) War in Asia—with China or Vietnam.
C) Complete Depression/recession in world.
D) Disaster like earthquakes, hurricanes, Floods.
E) Pandemics.
4. New people in the GOP might step up to run.
5. A 3rd Party might evolve on the right or left.
6. There might be a new major terrorist attack might happen.
7. You name it.... Lots can and will happen.

The only surety is that if Romney is nominated through deception and diversion by the MSM, he WILL lose the election, period. He is their ‘candidate’ to lose to Obama. ANY information you see as “he is the leader” etc. is bogus.

We conservatives are going to pick our own candidate this go round, thank you very much.
