A growing number of Americans is thinking about turning expat, according to a survey by America Wave and Zogby International.
The share of Americans planning to relocate increased to 2.5 percent from 0.8 percent in 2009. If this number describes the entire population, that means around 6 million Americans are planning on leaving the country.
America Wave's Bob Adams (a Business Insider contributor) found that single people, political conservatives and men were more likely to be in this group.

Keep me updated... Sounds like you two are heading my way!
I’ve always wanted to live in some crappy banana republic run by a Marxist - so I guess I’ll stay too...
It’s looking like Sandpoint.
My getaway would be the High Tatry region of Poland/Slovakia.
LOL.
Sad and true, and post of the day.

I lived in Canada for almost a decade, originally from Texas/LA. If youre a freeper, you will possibly despise canada, its inhabitants and social policies. Gas is 7 bucks a gallon there, taxes are around 13% on absolutely every product you buy (including food) and the taxes on liquor are worse (a case of beer is 35 bucks, a fifth of any spirit is 30-35).
My picks:
1. Merida, Mexico
2. Lunigiana, Italy
3. Bocas del Toro, Panama
4. Granada, Nicaragua
5. Nha Trang, Vietnam
6. Roatan, Honduras
7. Bearn, France
8. Corozal Town, Belize
To be honest, the only countries that are going to survive are the ones where there is no institutionalized welfare system. The people know which way is up and they are able to go there via schooling, skills, and self discipline.
Former Commie lands are freer now than Obamalandia!
The people who want to stay here are the ones who ruined this great nation. The ones who have just wanted to work and get on with life are going to go somewhere else, where they can work nad get on with life.
I’ve read that there are more than a million americans in Mexico now
I have to agree wiht you. The only ones who are thriving are the parasites and the moochers. The people who work are the ones who aren’t able to have as many kids as they want, as much money as they want, and as many days filled with peace and quiet as they want. The only ones who do seem to be the ones one welfare or have a wealthy baby daddy that they used to get full child support from.
I dreamed about living abroad throughout my teens... and then I actually did it.
Six years living in Germany...
It was interesting and I’m glad that I did it, but there’s no place like home! I was actually surprised by the relief and gratitude that I felt when I got off the plane. Germany wasn’t a bad place to live.
Hopefully, hubby and I will have another opportunity to live overseas for a couple of years, but that’s it. I want to visit, but I don’t want to live anywhere but here.
“with entitlements (ie: buying votes with taxpayer money) at 60% of federal spending... Im working 30% of my time to support the parasites”
I have ot agree with you there. Some say “stay and fight,” but I am beginning to wonder if those who do understand that some people just want to go about their business and have kids, live life, not fight an ever increasing hoard of barbarians that are being bred by the dozen.
Ship’em on out ASAP!
But never let them back in.
I’ve got a promised crashpad in the Sudety region.

That may be true. I got the info from an article in the paper today and we know how inaccurate the MSM is. 2 million in the neighbouring countries is still less than 1% of the total US population however.
