Former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky has been charged with sexually abusing eight children, with something like a dozen more also claiming they were victimized. That's horrible. Powerful PSU figures appear to have attempted to cover up what they knew. That makes it even worse.
But if one rumor turns out to be true, this may become a story too awful to compare to any other.
There's been nothing reported by an investigative journalist or law enforcement official so far, but a handful of media members are talking about investigations into whether Sandusky may have shared some of his victims with other adult males.
From two days ago, here's Dan Bernstein of CBS Chicago:
@dan_bernstein FYI: names are being x-checked w/Sandusky's Second Mile, and there are other older adult men with "curious" relationships. Only the start.
Thursday morning, Mark Madden, a Pittsburgh radio host who wrote a story seven months ago envisioning Sandusky's downfall, went on WEEI's Dennis & Callahan Morning Show to discuss the scandal. At the 7:15 mark here, he's asked about the "next shoe to drop." Here are his remarks:
I can give you a rumor, and I can give you something I think might happen. I hear there's a rumor that there will be a more shocking development from the Second Mile foundation. And, hold on to your stomachs because this is gross, I'll use the only language that I can, that Jerry Sandusky and Second Mile were pimping out young boys to donors. This is being investigated by two prominent columnists as I speak.
Madden also speculates it'll be revealed that Sandusky was told to retire as part of a cover-up.
CBS Sports' Gregg Doyel tweeted the following later in the morning, appearing to cite a source besides Madden:
@greggdoyelcbs I'm told Penn's atty general has this sick Sandusky rumor on the radar. Warning, awful read http://t.co/Wy4uiuiD
We can hope none of this is true, but multiple outlets are saying it's being investigated. If it is, let's then hope investigators are able to find it never happened.
Anything to do with the Sermon on the Mount?
But I say to you, Do not resist an evildoer. But if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also; and if anyone wants to sue you and take your coat, give your cloak as well; and if anyone forces you to go one mile, go also the second mile. Matthew 5:39-41 (NRSV)
Heard a joke yesterday that Sandusky, Ohio, to distance itself from the scandal, will be renamed “Hitler, Ohio.”
>This is freakin horrible.<
.
Why the outrage?
Isn’t being gay regarded as merely an “alternative” lifestyle, forced by law to be accepted as normal in our society? We even allow child adoption by gay couples.
We will not have to wait long till certain irregularities will come to light in our Armed Forces in the future.
Thanks. I've read so much on this freaking nightmare, but it is hard to find how it actually finally got to the Grand Jury. Thank goodness some Mother didn't quit.
I just find it so hard to believe grown male coaches and athletes would allow someone to do this to little boys. How do they live with themselves?
I hope they don’t let Sandusky near his grandkids while he’s out on bail!
This whole disgusting affair is very reminiscent of the pedophilia of Michael Dorris, who was the founder of charities for Native American children. He used these foundations as a hunting ground for victims. He abused both his adoptive and his natural children.
Dorris had the good sense to commit suicide before going to trial.
Absolutely ... I haven’t seen her mentioned much by the media .
It’s been scrubbed from Second Mile website, but saved it before it got trashed.

You bet the wife knew. He spent nights in bed with the young boys down in the basement, and not in Dottie’s bed.
Did she ever go down there to investigate?
“I think Gricar feared being exposed as a customer and made himself vanish.
He was determined to hide his personal computer and destroy the hard drive... compromising photos or child porn?”
Considering the facts this may be more plausible than my suspicion that he kept digging after the decision to not prosecute in 1998 and hit upon some of the richer people involved. It is scary easy to make someone disappear. Especially if the person is rich and has everything to lose. The risk of not getting rid of the guy is greater than the risk of getting caught making him disappear.
Seriously? This is the dumbest thing I’ve read in a while. I will say that my husband and I were just discussing our daughter’s high school swim coach who berated the girls who changed behind a door/curtain instead of baring all in front of everyone. The woman stripped herself in front of the girls and told them they should get over their modesty. She also held “shave parties” and berated anyone who did not participate. I’m pretty sure she is a lesbian and around 70 years old. It didn’t really occur to me at the time to report the woman because my daughter was so repulsed by her and kept her distance. But the coach sure did love the malleable girls.
Southern California had a similar thing long ago
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McMartin_preschool_trial
In 1990, after three years of testimony and nine weeks of deliberation by the jury, Peggy McMartin Buckey was acquitted on all counts.[10] Ray Buckey was cleared on 52 of 65 counts, and freed on bail after more than five years in jail.
Nine of 11 jurors at a press conference following the trial stated that they believed the children had been molested but the evidence did not allow them to state who had committed the abuse beyond a reasonable doubt
“Ray couldnt handle what he found”
And needed to remove the hard drive from his laptop before throwing it in the river as well?
Sorry, but the hard drive is evidence and to “know what they know” a perp needs the hard drive to review its contents.
Hom·i·cide.
And I bet that’s the short list.
Satire..thought it was obvious..but I guess that good satire has a modicum of believability....yep..with Arne Duncan..it’s possible..
Sending Arne Duncan to investigate, is like sending the fox to find out what happened to the hens.
Yes of course. It has nothing to do with happy, healthy, wholesome, sometimes heroic homosexual couples who beautify our wonderfully diverse nation with their unique, witty and wonderful lifestyle. (more sarcasm)
I cant believe that so many people are just downright intolerant of this guys lifestyle choices. (SARCASM)
Thank you! Glad these guys names are out in the open.
I think at this point, Sandusky’s bail needs to be recinded and he needs to take a lie detector test.
Not mentioned in that report is that Lombard was on the staff at Duke.
