In the remarkable race for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, it now appears to be a three-way contest among embattled frontrunner Herman Cain, one-time favorite Mitt Romney, and the surging Newt Gingrich.
Poll Positions national scientific survey of Americans saying they plan to vote in the 2012 Republican primary or caucus was conducted Tuesday night as Cain found himself embroiled in a growing controversy over sexual allegations made against him by four women allegations Cain emphatically denies as baseless.
The poll found
24% backing Cain, (actually 24.4%)
20% Romney, (actually 19.5%)
19% Gingrich, (actually 19.0%)
7% Rick Perry,
6% Ron Paul,
4% Michelle Bachmann,
2% Jon Huntsman,
3% someone else, and
15% with no opinion.

These poll results reflect the views of 604 likely Republican primary voters with a margin of error of +/- 4%. The polls full crosstabs are below.

OH how I would love to see Gingrich on a stage with Obama answering questions from the audience. My guess, in the scenario Obama will refuse to debate unless the questions are submitted before the debate.
I am not so sure that Obama could beat Gingrich. But the fix is always in, isn’t it!
Not only that Cain would rock the boat, the real good part is he has no further political ambitions. He lives every day as a blessing from God for his miraculous cure from advanced cancer. I am convinced he is the most likely to act as a statesman and do what is good for this country, and the future generations. Others in the running have big time “political” ambitions.
Gingrich has voted on 1000 bills. That is a lot of baggage.
The time has come for Huntsman, Perry & Bachman to exit the race.
and Romney has signed quite a few
