Hmmm? I was referring to the behavior of the “students” rioting and why they do it. Not a very good reason, but it’s just a theory that likely is true at its heart.
Same in Texas. UT in Austin is a cult and the football program is their shrine. I used to cheer for Texas teams, but now despise the horns. Then head coach D Royal made a very disparaging remark about rival TAMU.
Maybe! for things like embezzlement, but if you see a criminal physical act take place then the first person you notify is the police dispatcher. Why? Handling it via administration leaves that victim and other potential victims open to further attack during the period of admin. decision making; and that assumes an administrator 1) ends up with the proper information via the chain 2) chooses to do anything (i.e. Catholic Church response).
A "university policy" suggestion: Any criminal activity that involves threatened, attempted, or completed physical contact is to be reported immediately to 9-1-1.
I agree there are many questions about just what was obliged of Paterno (as well as others), whether he fulfilled it, etc.
However, I think perhaps when you hear of something so disgusting directly from the witness himself, morally you might want to keep looking into it. I know I’d be damned curious.
As for comments on the truth of the whole accusations? What about this grand jury? 1998 accusations? (Excuse me, but I haven’t read a good article sorting all this out, and either way, often reporting is wrong initially anyway.)
As for “families” - isn’t this “disadvantaged” kids? Why is everyone assuming they have families? (Again, no info on Second Mile.) What if they were orphans, or had to be fostered because their relatives were half dead and half messed-up? Which, BTW, is EXACTLY why they would be PERFECT TARGETS for abuse - not boys with good existent families.
Even if I felt there was a 1/100th percent chance of it being true, I would move the heavens and the Earth to find out what's going on.
Bamm, hit it right on the head.
Why in hell if the man saw this homo-rape going on - or anything remotely close to it - did he not knee-jerk call police?
Screw the campus. I couldn’t have cared less there was “campus police” when I was in college. If something was that much emergency - 911. Then maybe secondarily I’ll go to the “campus” police.
I know that most college campi are gay friendly now. But is the PSU campus really, really gay friendly? If so, that may explain a lot on why things were not reported.
Thanks, all, for your responses. As to mine, I can see where I was being a bit arch, a bit ignorant, and definitely not as thoughtful as most of you were. My sincere apologies. I’m still a bit disturbed that Paterno was let go prior to even Hearing One on the matter, but I can see where your hearts are as to the circumstances of this awful case. As usual, FReepers hearts are in the right place.
If they are doing what you say (moving in from north AND south) then the LEOs are idiots. If you move in on a crowd from two directions you put them in a squeeze and crowd dynamics take over and you then have big problems!
Unless there are wide open exits to the east or west. I thought they were on a street????
It is in Obama's Amerika...........
Sadly I agree and I am a BIG fan of Penn State football. I just don’t see how you can do anything else but cancel the season.
“Sadly I agree and I am a BIG fan of Penn State football. I just dont see how you can do anything else but cancel the season.”
FWIW, I don’t think they will act that quickly.
“Important” people have already made travel plans and bookings already...
They can always vacate wins later.
The next morning, a Saturday, the graduate assistant telephoned Paterno and went to Paterno's home, where he reported what he had seen. Joseph V. Paterno testified to receiving the graduate assistant's report at his home on a Saturday morning. Paterno testified that the graduate assistant was very upset. Paterno called Tim Curley ("Curley"), Penn State Athletic Director and Paterno's immediate superior, to his home the very next day, a Sunday, and reported to him that the graduate assistant had seen Jerry Sandusky in the Lasch Building showers fondling or doing something of a sexual nature to a young boy. Approximately one and a half weeks later, the graduate assistant was called to a meeting with Penn State Athletic Director Curley and Senior Vice President for Finance and Business Gary Schultz ("Schultz"). The graduate assistant reported to Curley and Schultz that he had witnessed what he believed to be Sandusky having anal sex with a boy in the Lasch Building showers.
what a bunch of sicko’s , kids , boys have been raped and these sicko’s are mad at the firing of their coach of a football team instead.
This just shows how America has declined when they riot over a football team coach getting fired and not riot of little boys being raped by a homosexual child molester.
Then it seems the school has been ignoring the rapes for years but time will tell for sure on that.
These lunatics and others need to have a word with themselves, they should be more upset with the boys being raped and demanding justice than rioting over a coach being fired.
This crap happens when people stop teaching moral’s and values to their kids and in the schools.
could this be the next revelation?
notice how the media never mention that the man raping boys the same sex is a homosexual.
No the media and the students are more concerned over the firing of a coach and their football team than boys being raped on campus.
SICK.
Time for the GOP or someone to denounce these students and the school and explain how boys were raped at their school over years and the firing of a coach is petty compared.
homosexual child molesters for Paterno.
Heard one student shout “we love you Joe”, and none seem outraged over boys being raped at their school over years.
This is how low and pathetic colleges have become, thankfully my boys will be attending military colleges.
Not only did Paterno not encourage the eyewitness to go to the authorities, Paterno continued to provide Sandusky with access to the Penn State Football facilities.
So yes, Paterno knowingly harbored a child molester.
Well I guess he is gone now after 46 years. Why can’t he at least get a retirement ceremony? Sure he didn’t do more but one day erases 46 years???
