Perry froze up on stage as he attempted to list the three federal departments he planned to cut, naming Education and Commerce but forgetting the Department of Energy.
Said Perry: "I may have forgotten Energy, but I haven't forgotten my conservative principles."
Asked by a reporter if that moment was embarrassing, Perry said: "I stepped in it, man. Yeah, it was embarrassing. Of course it was."

Missed this debate; didn’t know it was on tonight.
This is so stupid. How many people have had a thought slip their mind. Yes he was on national stage but this is human. It happens. I am no fan of Perry but I am less of a fan of this unimportant stuff taking up headlines.
Has anyone noticed that Europe is crashing financially. It would be far more important to ask Perry and the rest how they plan to protect the U.S. economy if it does.

I do feel bad for Mrs. C, but not that much, she should have been smart enough to know that this guy was a loser from the get go.

I didn’t see the debate tonight, and I’m not a Perry fan, but I think this sounds like a reasonable and responsibility-taking answer to effing up a question.

There is no shortage of headline material. This was a national debate on the US Presidency and probably the liveliest most on-topic relevant discussion of conservative issues in years. Wheres the beef?
Electing a conservative President might positively impact global economics...ya think?
He has FOUGHT the Obummer administration on all 3. He never was a great debater, I’ve been watching him for years. A Great Debater does not make a Great President, but it certainly helps.
With this current crop of GOP Hopefuls, I’m scouring the net for another place to live. I’m hopeless, oh yea and mystified
FYI Perry did go to the spin room. Good for him.
As I said on the live debate thread, on several occasions I’ve heard Rush reach for a word or a name and couldn’t pull it out. If you’re human it going to happen to you. Perry did well in the debate otherwise.
But at the end of this day, it looks like this gaffe will completely terminate his run for the Republican candidacy, which is sorta important. Republicans need flawlessness and perfection everywhere if they want to ensure we dont have Marx wannabes in charge from 2012 to 2016.

He has gone from forgetful to delusional as Perry has never had conservative principles.
