Were it not for the dates in question, they wouldn't have investigated the matter. You are probably right.

Disgusting, makes me sick.

Those responsible should be prosecuted and sent to prison.

That is interesting that they can’t identify the remains. I think all service members have to have DNA samples on file. I know I do. I can’t believe somebody didn’t do an immediate WTF on the land fill solution.

Crazy!!! Without getting into too much detail, a friends father was buried today in Arlington after they found some remains in Vietnam. He was a helicopter pilot it Vietnam in 1972. He was finally put to rest after an amazing story. RIP Captain.

We have very strict time requirements to get the remains to NOK which is undoubtedly a factor here. That said, this is not going to be pretty for the USAF.

from 2003 until 2008

I know that DNA was taken from me as a new recruit in 1995 for identification purposes so the remains could have been identified.

Several folks need to be sent to prison. If I were the SecDef I would eviscerate the entire command.

I am sick right now with anger and want to do bodily harm to someone...

“Were it not for the dates in question, they wouldn’t have investigated the matter.”

This is a major digrace to our war heroes and this would and should be Investigated, no matter how long ago it occured.

These people perform a very, very difficult service.

Some of the bodies they deal with are more like rotting soup than bodies.

They treat the soldiers with respect and dignity, but the reality of dealing with dead bodies is something most people have never experienced, especially the people expressing the greatest outrage, would be my guess.

A sad, necessary job performed by honorable people.

Shame on the concern-trolls for saying anything different.

If our government can’t treat the remains of dead US service personnel with respect what can we expect from Obamacare?

The moment you start treating the Military as a flesh processing plant,is when it stops being effective. You can’t treat soldiers without respect or as # and expect them to keep fighting.

It is beyond disturbing they would go ahead and bury human remains in a landfill, much less those who died in wars.Predictable as well, given how much some of the services’s brass think of the grunts.

Gold Star families have enough to contend with and now this?!! Shame, shame on the subhumans without morals or conscience who would do this to our KIA.

A landfill??? Burial at sea?

Why not a place where the ashes are entombed together? It needs to be nothing fancy..a small plaque..

Who thought a landfill was ever an appropriate place for cremated human remains?

This is shocking.

There is a group of people, and agencies that work to find forgotten veteran’s remains, and to bury them with honors. Seems that there are many (thousands) unclaimed remains throughout the country, going back decades. This group is called Missing In America Project. I believe that they accept volunteer help and/or donations.

Nice dodge Bush bot. This happened on Dubya’s watch. The buck stops with him. Yet another epic failure for “the Decider.”
