Using Free Republic To Voice Your Opinions But Not Helping to Pay the Bills
Editorial ^ | 8 Nov 11 | Xzins

Gratitude is all about thanking someone who has done you a favor of some sort. Ingratitude is failing to recognize that favor.

All over freeperland thousands of opinions are registered daily from those who use these pages. Whether touting their favorite candidate or sharing a new idea, those on Free Republic get a chance to share their conservative opinions. (Other opinions are zapped since this is a conservative forum.)

A freepathon raises money to keep Free Republic running. Participating in the freepathon is as easy as clicking on the links provided for that purpose. Such as: Donate here

The best show of gratitude for the opportunity FR gives you to get your thoughts seen by thousands of people is to share the expense.

It's a little bit odd to brag about supporting Cain or Perry or Gingrich (or whomever) on a website you are not helping to support. Those folks at Free Republic must be really nice to allow you to do that. Show your gratitude by supporting FR today.

“Fruitcake” is a derogatory term for a homosexual.

Calling someone a fruitcake is the same as calling them a fag.

What is wrong with hate?

From your post it appears you love everybody.

Everybody would include pedophiles.

Or maybe you simply have no convictions. A lot of liberals suffer from that malady.

Seems simple to me.

A vote for Romney is a vote for Obama just as a vote for Obama is a vote for Obama.

Why don’t the two or three Romney supporters left start a fan club?

See my tagline.

Never has been in my little ole Ohio that I’ve known for the past 60 years. (BTW, “I” didn’t do the name calling. A student did.)

However, it’s always been synonymous with “doofus” or “dweeb”, or, in other words, light-hearted banter among kids.

“...you have a choice, stay home...”

That is not the only other choice. You can vote on election day without voting Republican or Democrat for President.

You can vote for a different party. You can write in a name.

You can not vote for that office at all....

But you can still go and vote for any conservative candidates “down ticket” for any house or senate offices, state and local offices, etc.

Staying home because you don’t like the presidential nominee is as stupid as voting for a socialist. And it is not the only alternative to voting Democrat or Republican for President.

I have been trying to dumb it down for you but that is tiring so I’ll leave you to your Romney support.

Romney, Romney
He’s the one
If Romney is elected
He’ll take your gun!

Hi Bipolar Bob - You said: “I donate but never get credit on the list of donors. I even put my name in the comment box this time. But I do donate.”

There’s a place to say whether you want your name listed or not, but one of the good folks that I pinged to this comment will help you get that sorted out.

Thanks for donating!

Ok..go vote for some third party and make sure obama has his veto over Republican legislation coming out of the House and Senate. Good strategy...

Fruitcake

Don't feel bad, x.

In the early 1980's I once called a mozlim man a "male chauvinist pig," and ended up in personnel hearing about how offended he was, LOL!

He got transferred to a department where he didn't have to work with women, let alone work for one.

That was my first encounter with a mozlim, and I've never gotten a better impression of them in all the years since.

Had a German foreign exchange student once who became highly indignant over being called a “fruitcake.”

At least you didn't call him an ascheloche.

I lived in Germany for four years, and I'm not getting any vibes over fruitcake.

I'm listening to you explain the simplest concept that should be and should have been obvious to any thinking person. The GOP elites have chosen Romney as the designated loser, and nominating him will mean the end of the Republic because zer0 will get four more years that it will not survive.

Another nasty RINO, McCain took the loser role last time, and there have been others. When are people going to learn that the GOP is not conservative and not on our side? How many designated losers will it take, over and over again for some people to learn?

Keep preaching, Brother! They've got to grasp this concept, or we're doomed.

I love FR, but it’s hatred of all things LDS seems a bit much.

I kind of have to call BS on that one. Sure, there are a several anti-mormon comments posted by some number of FReepers, but I would have to say I've probably seen two or three times as many anti-catholic comments as anti-mormom comments here. (I generally avoid the holy war threads, but the comments sometimes spill over to the general news and politics threads.) The opposition to Romney expressed here on FR is almost universally based on his political record -- his Romneycare socialized medicine plan, his historical animosity toward gun rights, his historical support for abortion rights, his profligate tax and spend record, etc. His religious heritage doesn't even register on the scale here for the most part at FR, apart from fringe posters.

I don’t care about whether Romney gets in or not. He certainly merits criticism for his many different stands. I guess if he is the nominee I will crawl over ground glass to vote for him, but he is not my favorite. The chance that obama nutcase will get 4 more years is enough to ignore Romney’s political baggage and vote for him. We are in good company the Catholic bashing is pretty prevalent too. For the primary, I like Herman pending the outcome of the thousand women that think is a sexual bore. (I know I pumped the number a bit), next is Newt, but I sort of run dry after that. I cannot get excited about Perry. He should take the rocks out of his mouth before he attempts to talk on stage.

OK, go vote for Romney, the socialist baby killer who engineered Obamacare. Encourage the republican elites to keep running socialist candidates so you can keep voting for them. Good strategy.

(Do I really need a sarcasm tag?)

“I donate but never get credit on the list of donors. “

-

Mention your donation in one of the FReepathon threads.

You’ll get a thank you.

(which reminds me, I need to send in my pledge) :)

Well, I guess Obama is your guy. I don’t want to stand in the way of your Socialist utopia. I don’t think Romney is getting the nod, but if he does and is heading over the falls, he certainly will paddle slower than obama. My experience is that Republicans all paddle slower than the Shumers, Pelosis and the Obama types, but it is your choice, you can go out in blaze of glory with Obama at the helm.

“Well, I guess Obama is your guy.”

That is an insult.

“I don’t want to stand in the way of your Socialist utopia.”

Where the HELL do you get off accusing ME of being a socialist? YOU are the one in the tank for Romney.

Take your pro Romney crap and stuff it where the sun don’t shine, pal.

There are only two viable parties. That is reality. Vote Republican, vote Democrat or stay home. If both Romney and Obama are socialist baby killers, vote for the one that allows you liberty longer. That is your choice. You can in primaries try to get somebody else, but in general there are only two choices. Lets hope we get somebody from the primaries we can in good conscience vote for. By staying home, you allow the Socialist Utopia faster because Obama is on speed.
