They want to drink raw milk? Go for it.

I don't find the authority in the Constitution for the federal government to regulate milk.

Myself, missing a spleen, I'll take mine pasturized and dried and in baked goods. ;)

I drank raw milk once when i was 9

I was visiting a girl from school for the weekend...

We took our Corn Flakes out to the pasture, caught one of the cows and milked her right there so we would have hot milk on our cereal

the girl was used to the milk...

I got Yellow Jaundice a type of hepatitis

All my siblings and I were raised on raw milk that is until we were a year or so old and Mother weaned us.

This is the same crowd that demands that the government pass all sorts of laws to hinder non-”organic” farming and promote “organic” farming.

I raised Nubian goats for a few years and simply loved the raw milk. Not a bit of goaty taste and I miss raw milk a lot. The stuff in stores is a poor substitute. (goat milk in stores even my dog won’t drink)

I am a firm believer in not just raw milk, but wholesome, natural, unrefined foods in the diet. Weston A. Price Foundation is very worthwhile, and their educational website has been a real blessing.

Most Americans do not realize that Food Freedom is at risk. That big agribusiness, through its enforcement arm, the FDA, is actively suppressing small farms who produce raw dairy. I imagine that type A2 beta casein will never see the light of day in our supermarkets.

Then they came for the milk, but...

Then they came for the eggs, but...

Then they came for the honey, but...

Now, they're coming for MY zucchini!

“local and regional food systems are better for our environment and will support family-scale producers. They will emphasize the need for Americans to buy fresh and local.”

Funny, this was just debunked on “Stossel” last time.

All this Enviro-Mental and “natural” crap is just that - crap.

Whether raw milk is innocuous, or lethal, depends on a lot of factors, most of which are not under the drinker’s control. If the cow is disease-free, and her udder has been properly washed, and the container into which she is milked is clean, and the milk is transported properly, and etc, etc, etc, then raw milk is probably innocuous.

Notice how many of those things YOU don’t control? Pretty much none of them - unless you’re raising the cow yourself, or a well-known neighbor is - and therefore only a fool or an idiot would go on and on about the bennies of raw cow’s milk. Some of the risks? In addition to those some have listed, polio is a definite risk - had a great uncle who contracted polio from drinking raw cow’s milk.

Basically, unless you can control all of the factors listed above - or have a reliable basis for believing that they have been controlled, which is something you only get with FDA-type dairy rules - then you might as well start playing Russian roulette while you’re downing your glass of raw.
