go practice @ a Kendo Class...
i know..i know...they use Shinai (bamboo swords)
but, the practice is worth it.
have less practice time?...20 Ga. shotgun works, too.

A PEDOPHILE who broke into a Brisbane family's home, stripped naked and molested a three-year-old girl and took indecent photographs of the toddler as she slept has received a combined jail term of effectively eight years.
The Brisbane District Court was told Craig Anthony Ellis broke into the family's Aspley home on Brisbane's northside and sexually assaulted the toddler on January 21, 2009.
Ellis, then aged 29, tried to flee when the girl's parents were awoken by their daughter's muffled cries - resulting in the toddler's father crash tackling the naked intruder while the mother struck the pedophile with an ornamental samurai sword.
Judge Michael Rackemann said Ellis' behaviour and abuse of the girl was "very disturbing" and warranted an eight-year term. During today's hearing Ellis threatened to kill the judge, the prosecutor, his child victim and her mother
However, the judge said because Ellis had already been behind bars on remand for two years and nine months, a sentence of five years and three-months was appropriate under the circumstances.

What the ruling should have been:
“It is the ruling of this court that the mother of the child be permitted to improve her skill with a blade. A sharpened blade will be provided for the mother to use upon her child’s assailant.”
“Judge Michael Rackemann said Ellis’ behaviour and abuse of the girl was “very disturbing” and warranted an eight-year term.”
The judge thought that what this criminal did was only, “very disturbing” and nothing more. That says quite a bit about the judge.
It was an ORNAMENTAL sword- probably had no edge on it at all. A cheap, sharp machete would have been much more effective.

Since it was an ornimental sword, we know it was dull and not full tang. I'm surprised she injured the perv and not herself.
A katana is made for cutting and slashing, not stabbing, but it can be used that way if need be.
I'm sure the reporter has no clue what was actually done to the perv.
8 years? Ok, but first he needs to have his privates sawed off, with a rusty sword, slowly.
I agree — not death, death is too good for this guy, castration with a rusty sword and then tossed in a dungeon with no human contact and no light for 8 years.
What does the old testament say about crimes like this? Find a tall cliff and toss the offender over the edge. The child molester can not be reformed or fixed—they will do it again and again.
