Occupy DC protesters violently injured peaceful Tea Party go-ers (some elderly) and attemped to force entry into the Washington Convention Center on Friday (Nov 4, 2011), where Americans for Prosperity is hosting their "Defending the American Dream Summit." The protesters also formed roadblocks, surrounding the convention center and only allowing non-luxury cars to pass. Parents with their children were caught in the violence. Some injured... Auto/pedestrian accidents occured as Occupy protestors rushed into the streets hurling profanities at drivers and attempting to block drivers' paths. This has to stop...

They have little leeway in Tennessee. Occupy Nashville got a reprieve to peaceful assembly. Their is no occupy Memphis or occupy Knoxville and Chattanooga.

Yes the communists & other assorted rabble of OWS must be stopped but do not expect the GOP to do jack squat . The TEA party must do it .I recommend getting your affairs in order because before this is over there will be blood in the streets . I also suggest that we of the TEA party start our own agit -prop campaign since the Democrats are running the OWS & the GOP leadership is standing around either wanting to endorse the OWS & bad mouth the TEA party movement or are just playing with themselves.

I know what you mean about the football threads. Some of these posts (like ETL’s) are so large it takes significant time just to scroll past them. It’s creating a worn spot on my track pad :)

AFPF Statement on Attack by “Occupy” Movement
Americans for Prosperity Foundation (AFPF) issued the following statement today:
“While we support the right to free speech and to peaceably assemble, it is saddening and unacceptable that the “occupy” group launched an attack on our own peaceable assembly and expression of free speech,” said AFPF Executive Vice President Tracy Henke.
Henke continued, “There is a deep divide in our fundamental vision for America. We at AFPF advocate for individual freedom and responsibility, ideas that enrich and empower society as a whole.”
Rather than inciting class warfare, our leaders need to focus on creating an environment that will enable American businesses to create jobs and economic growth—and they need to condemn these increasingly violent protests.
In hundreds of AFPF events, there has never been an arrest or reported act of violence by our members.
They should have come out swinging a little harder than this wimpy statement imho.
Tea Party personnel should not be having summits in places where they are not allowed to bear and use arms in self defense.
I can’t imagine the OWS idiots getting as far as they did in this video in a place with vigorous and enthusiastic RKBA, like Texas.

It’s invaluable information when you are debating friends, or writing and you need to source a point of contention. It’s great because it’s hard for me to keep track of some of that information in my head - especially when I need online sources. I don’t assume ETL thinks I’m an IDIOT. I also keep in mind that there are others - liberals and lurkers alike, who come to FR on occasion, and may NOT know what us “political junkies” are well aware of.
It’s not hurting anything as far as I can tell. Plus, it’s a lot of work to do to have it all together like that. May I ask why it bothers you so much?
