A couple of my tea party friends have noted...
Newt would be a decent VP for Herman.
He knows the Federal Leviathan and maybe the guy to help Herman disassemble it, and has the inside the belt way knowledge that Cheney brought to GWB's ticket....

Newt could dance circles around anyone in a debate format, imo. But Herman is my guy. My expectation for the debate is that both men will be respectful. I hope both guys do well, and that we’ll get to see more primary debates like this one, instead of playing “gotcha” with Chris wallace or Anderson Cooper in 30 second sound bites.

Basic rule of thumb for political campaigns.
Don't build up expectations for your candidate so high he cannot possibly meet them.
If Newt stumbles even a bit, it will now hurt him immensely since everyone has talked up how "great" he is going to do. Newt can put his foot in his mouth. His trash talking Paul Ryan is a good example of how Newt can let his mouth get him into trouble.
Trash talking Cain and extravagantly praising Newt when you have no idea how they will actually perform is bad political tactics.

This is where you all so hurt your guy Perry. You Perry supporters spent the 1st 6 weeks of the campaign building him up as some sort of political god come to earth.
When Perry then stepped on it, it pretty much destroyed his campaign. People could not help but see how far short of their expectations the real Perry came.
It not right but in politics voters don't blame themselves for unrealistic expectations, they blame the politician for failing their expectations.
