The settlement agreement between the National Restaurant Association and a woman who accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment was reached in September 1999--and was not signed by Cain himself, according to Joel Bennett, a lawyer for the woman.
Bennett, who has a copy of the settlement agreement, said four people signed it: the woman, two lawyers representing the association and Bennett himself.
Bennett said the agreement was resolved relatively quickly, about two or three months after she complained.

A routine legal handling of a bogus claim...sort of like flushing the toilet. “Shut up and go away”....perfectly legitimate for a large organization to handle it in this way....and Cain is obviously telling the truth.
I’m still a bit worried, but I hope he emerges from this a lot stronger, and independents start to flock to him the way we conservatives are!

How can you be accused of something - and accused of settling and not be a party to the agreement?
I thought we all have the right to confront our accusers.
Was Herman Cain allowed to refute the charges? Or did the NRA lawyers make a decision without his input.

Which means it will offer absolutely nothing of any relevance to the issue.
I don’t think this is a big revelation. Why would Cain sign any settlement agreement? He isn’t releasing anything. It is very rare that the company or person with the claim against it to sign such a document. And, when the company or individual’s attorney signs, it is usually as to “agrees to form and content” or similar nature.
I think Cain is being smeared, but I don’t think this part of the story means anything.

It is a shame that any American would allow media to attempt these attacks....
They cannot allow us to choose our own candidate- it is THEIR job and they will destroy any threat to their power...
Thank GOD Cain is the kind of man who will not back down, run, or hide.....I just pray we are strong enough to finally stand up to them and not back down this time.
We claim we want these kind of folks in office, but are we willing to be as strong as we expect our public servants to be?
So far it looks like we are up to the job....NOW is NOT the time to allow them to wear us down...
How could he not sign the agreement and still break the agreement?
This lawyer has been all over the place. If he is the same guy, I just thought I read that he couldn’t even remember that Cain was the guy and he had nothing on file?
