Chris Wilson of Wilson Research Strategies has said publicly that while he was working for Herman Cain at the National Restaurant Association (NRA) in the late 1990′s that he personally saw Cain sexually harass a woman at a restaurant in Virginia although Wilson has not said exactly what he believes constituted his claim of harassment.
WHO IS CHRIS WILSON?
Chris Wilson was the Executive Director of the Republican Party of Texas under then-governor George W. Bush. Chris Wilson worked very closely with Karl Rove. Rove was known to us in Texas as the master of dirty political tricks. I suspect that Rove taught Chris Wilson the art of deception.
KARL ROVE
Karl Rove has been accused of being the source behind countless dirty tricks, whisper campaigns, smear tactics, and character assassinations.
I have dealt personally with Karl Rove.

So Caine says its Perry and Rove and Perry dislike each other .....so THEY say.
Does not compute
Rove has a job on TV now .....why would he jeopardize that?
I dont buy it
This is what the Japanese call 本音 and 建前. (honne vs. tatemae).
The former is what one says just for the public, or to make a good image, or keep things peaceful. The latter is what one REALLY thinks and does, what is hidden, what is the true intent.
In that interview today, which is classic, Rove started out in the most conciliatory, gentle, friendly, praising, (bullshit) manner in discussing "Herman". This was his 建前. You could tell from the tone of his voice he did not mean it.
Then the interview continued and the tone of his voice began to change. He could not agree with Hannity that it had been unfair or gone on too long.
His voice started to escalate. Then he started in on the "this thing wont go away", and "gotta get out there in front of it", and all kinds of mennjuufukuhai type statements. Words said one thing which betrayed the real intent.
I suspect this guy.
Above anyone else.
He knows how to back channel, destroy people, stir the DC/Beltway media shit storm, then stand back and watch it all implode, but maintain a demeanor as if he had nothing to do with it.
I learned more from that brief Hannity interview today with Karl Rove than I think I ever learned. He was praising Herman whilst smacking him. It is so apparant he does not want Herman Cain to be the nominee for some reason. And out there, indeed, there is a SHCM (Stop Herman Cain Movement). They would have pulled this stuff against Duncan Hunter four years ago, but since he never went past Gandhi's Phase 1 (they basically ignored him, maybe a little ridicule here and there), he was never a true threat, so they did not need to smear him. Herman has moved up incredibly in the numbers in a most unconventional way, bypassing a whole system of slick political professionals, consultants, toadies, hangers on, beltway insiders, etc. and he has cut them out of the action $$$$), and they do NOT take kindly to this! We have not heard the last from this segment of the Republican Establishment, believe me. I wonder what their next move will be? One thing is for sure, they will need to maintain maximum plausible deniability, but I think we are in a new age here cyber-wise, where they can and will eventually be unmasked and it will backfire in their faces.
Political people believe in winning ....Rove wants to win....thats all
The day after the story broke, Rove was on the O'Reilly Factor. And he was flogging the story for all it was worth. Selling it!
This was even after the story was beginning to fall apart. But Rove acted like he didn't want it to die.
I couldn't help thinking Rove had an investment in the story.
本音 (honne), what one really thinks
建前 (tatemae) what is said for public consumption, i.e. basically a lie or a mistruth committed for a larger intent in mind
I call them ‘spittle ghosts’ because they spittle forth poison while seeking to remain ‘outside of the realities’.
I don’t suspect Rove. He’s too smart to know this kind of thing can blow up in your face. If he’s for Romney, then he knows that Romney is doing just fine in the STATE polls he needs to do well in—the national polls are deceptive.
Quite interestingly, Mr. Rove is walking it back a bit, trying to detach himself from it, all the while somehow keep it alive. A very delicate balancing act. Listen to his voice. You will know the parts when he is really telling his true soul. He is probably afraid as this thing could blow up in his face and embarrass him big time. I think he sees the numbers shifting against this kind of attack politics and he does not want to "own it". Success knows many fathers but failure is an orphan. I think he is ever so sensitively involved in an "abandon ship!" operation on this Establishment Smear as we speak. Now is the time to go on offense and find out how and who planted this and stirred it.
Because that's a sideline.
His real job is running American Crossroads, the 527 that works with the big GOP donors. Which is also Romney-friendly.
I wouldn’t trust Tokyo or Mitt as far as I could throw them. For some reason I just don’t think it was Perry.
I agree.... I think in Rove’s mind and the anointed ones they see a Romney /Caine ticket as the winning hand..... Romney to pacify the the mainstream and Caine to pacify the right wing
similar to McCaine/ Palin
It has many of the trappings of a “black ops.”
Sure does ...
Mark Levin really went off on a caller tonight who suggested Carl Rove had something to do with the Cain story. Said Carl was a real problem for conservatives, but would have not been involved in this.
Wilson did nobody any favors which his post-”scandal” “expose” of the one night in question. All innuendo, didn’t give any details, claimed he was not allowed to do so, but was able to say it was bad. Sorry — either you talk, or you shut up. None of this “if you only knew what I know” crap.
Well, in this case, they only paid $45,000. Which was a lot of money for the woman apparently, but not much for a major organization.
I don’t think it was as easy to make big bucks with a sex claim as some say. And it wasn’t easy on the woman either — you pretty much had to leave the job if you made a claim, because people would treat you differently.
Not excusing the women, or suggesting there was anything there. Just saying it wasn’t very lucrative for them, and isn’t a trivially easy thing for a woman to do.
This stinks of Rove and his whiteboard lies.
A perfect characterization of Rove's performance on Hannity today. No more sales pitch. Instead, he tried to shove the issue into the Cain campaign's lap -- telling them to "deal with it" and "move on".
Rove wants his guy to win.
Problem is, officially, he's not working for anybody.
Every campaign hires a polling firm. Well, every campaign with money. And maybe Cain doesn’t have one.
Wilson’s tie-in to this story is that his firm was employed by the NRA. So he was the NRA’s pollster during the Cain years (I wonder if that means Cain hired him — I haven’t figured out what the delegation of authority was at the NRA, Cain was CEO so you’d think he be in charge of hiring and firing, the board clearly was just oversight as they didn’t know about the harrassment claims.
But I can’t believe that one of his polls was posted here and not ONE freeper pointed out that he polled for Perry. Are you sure of that? I mean, didn’t you say something, or did it happen while you were out?
When I was 20 I worked for a manufacturing company as a receptionist. I answered to one of the senior (elderly) partners of the company who was actually a great man. The sales manager and sales staff were all men... not one woman at that time was in a position of management or sales/marketing. I was a pretty introverted kid at that time. The sales manager came into the copy room (very small room) and pinned me up against the copy machine where I was working. It took me by surprise. I grew up with an older brother who taught me how to fight so instinctively I turned and belted him. I had no idea who I had smacked, but when I saw it was a manager I was pretty sure I was going to be fired. Funny thing. Every single one of those little smirky sexist punks on that sales team started treating me with a heck of a lot of respect after that.
