Georgia businessman Herman Cain, who continues to battle past allegations of sexual harassment, draws the most support nationally for the Republican nomination.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely GOP Primary voters shows Cain with 26% of the vote over former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romneys 23%. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich draws 14% support, with no other GOP contender reaching double-digits. Thirteen percent (13%) of GOP voters are undecided at this time.
As for the rest of the field, Texas Governor Rick Perry picks up eight percent (8%) support, Texas Congressman Ron Paul gets seven percent (7%), both Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman each pick up two percent (2%), while former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum draws support from just one percent (1%).......

Cain gets the broken glass conservatives so if nothing comes from this Willard is done for.
and look who is in third in case Cain falters and looks like he can’t beat Romney
We have put up with his ilk in the Oval Office for the last 3 years already.
Michelle Bachmann 2% - ouch
newt says it’s between him and romney.
whatta ego!
it’s between cain and newt.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NEWT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:)
NO conservative would have voted for Clinton/Gore in 92. No conservative has ever been backed by Rainbow Push and NO conservative would have donated money to liberal Nebraska candidates AFTER he supposedly joined the gop. Cain won’t get my vote
I don’t have an issue with Gingrich saying he’s going to be the Conservative candidate against Romney at the end.. that’s why he’s running.. good for him
watch Cain’s and Gingrich’s debate coming up on Saturday and then decide who’s best to be President
GO NEWT!
If he was the serial harrasser they say he is, he would have been accused at every place he ever worked.
This should awaken the GOP establishment that seems to have settled on Romney that he is stuck on 20%.. He has been there since the he began running for President in 2008.
I heard Cain touting this poll on Hannity today but if I’m not mistaken he was at 30% just yesterday. I’d say that drop in one day is pretty ominous.
yeah, newt’s quite well-spoken.
but i trust cain’s honesty.
remember when rush said after the inauguration: “i hope obama’s policies fail”?
newt agreed.
then the leftist msm yelled foul!
guess who apologized on demand?
newt gingrich.
yes, i like him at times.
you cannot trust newt.
Different polling companies, same time period.
We will see in a week. I do expect a hit. However, as Gingrich’s indiscretions come out, he will experience a hit too.
For me Cain is #1 and Newt is #2. I like Newt and he has done well after early missteps. If he can control is "ADD" on all his ideas and focus, he will do well. I am looking forward to serious discussion with Newt and Cain. I wish I could go to the Cain/Newt debate.
You can still say that after this week? He took the podium 5 times in three days and had 5 different stories. Claimed that he misspoke becasue this happened in the 90's and he hadn't thought about it since. But when he bombed the Perry canmpaign he now says that he told Chris Anderson all about it in 2003.
First he said nothing happened. Then he said there was an allegation but no settlement. Then he said there was an investigation and he recused himself and his General Counsel and the head of HR conducted an investigation. The head of HR says she was part of no investigation and wasn't aware of the allegations. Then he said there was no settlement that he was aware of but if tehre was one he hoped it was small because he didn't do anything. Then he said he knew there was an agreement but didn't consider that to be 'settlement'. Now we hear that the women involved can't speak on the matter because their 'agreement that isn't a settlement' compels their silence on the matter.
So I ask all the Cain supporters who claim there's nothing to these allegations. If there really is nothing to these allegations, why the gag order? Why would they not be free to tell their side of the story? If there's really nothing to tell?
Actually, it's between Romney, and the candidate in the best position who is not Romney. Just as Romney is picking up some votes because he is the frontrunner, Cain is picking up some because he is the perceived leader among the candidates who are not Romney. That position is tenuous and could change rapidly. I think Cain would make an excellent president, but I also believe that Newt Gingrich is the smartest man in the race. I don't agree with a lot of what he says, but he is best qualified to fix the economy, restore our place in the world, and kick Obama's ass in a debate.
The women never came forward. The agreements that they signed that Cain denied for two days ever existed have a gag clause that forbids them from speaking of the matter. I have to wonder why there would be a monetary settlement AND a gag order for a matter that never happened. Curious, no?
