WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain has hauled $1 million in donations in recent days, a spokesman said on Thursday, despite accusations of sexual harassment that have consumed his campaign.
The former pizza executive's fundraising took a jump once his ascent in the polls began about a month ago. He brought in $2 million in the first two weeks of October. Until then, he had raised about $5.2 million after entering the race in May.

Know quite a bit about politics. Worked for Ollie North in va; Worked on George Allen’s campaign for governor; served as district delegate; precint chair of my district. Helped my mother when I was a child on the Goldwater campaign...she was a delegate to the gop national convention for Reagan. I have worked the polls, spoke for Allen on the sol’s at the VA schools and also have worked for republican candidates in MO. Never voted democrat in my life and never knew any true conservatives that would have a coalition such as Rainbow Push support them.
You chose to attack the person rather than deal with the issues. Your arguments are very weak
Also, have had the pleasure of meeting John Ashcroft, Roy Blunt, Ollie North, George Allen, Jack Kemp, Elizabeth Taylor and Sen Warner of VA, Congressman Whitehurst ...when my mother hosted a fundraiser for him, Jim Miller (Reagan’s former budget director) when I hosted a fundraiser for him and numerous others. Husband is retired military ..3 tours in Korea and 2 in Nam and he supports me in all my activists beliefs fighting to restore this nation to what it was like when I was younger. Free from govt control over our every move and keeping our constitution in tact
According to J. D. Gordon, Cains vice-president of communications, Clinton was the last Democratic candidate for President that Cain supported. Gordon tells Nebraska Watchdog that by 1996 Cain who had joined up with Jack Kemp the GOPs vice-presidential candidatehad changed to the Republican Party.
Maybe so but as Nebraska Watchdog recently reported even after joining the GOP Cain contributed to two Nebraska Democrats.
1996: Nebraska Governor Ben Nelsons first U.S. Senate campaign, $500. (Nelson was running against Republican Chuck Hagel, who defeated Nelson).
1998: Congressional hopeful Michael Scott, $500. (Scott lost to Republican Lee Terry, following admissions by Scott that he had used illegal drugs including marijuana and cocaine).
Also, had a political-chat room for years but gave it up due to time restraints. Neil Bradley from Roy Blunt’s campaign did a Q&A for me; also, Adrian Herrara of Alaska (who has been on G Gordon Liddy’s talk show) hosted the room for me one night on drilling for oil. Should America drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge aka ANWR?
Join Adrian Herrera on thursday, dec. 6 at 8 PM CST in Political-Chat. He will answer your questions on the importance of drilling and more.
Brief bio on Adrian:
“I am a 30 year Alaska resident who has worked in Prudhoe Bay both for the oil industry as a oil field hand and for the environmental industry as a ecological field researcher. (collecting population figures on wildlife in the field and surrounds) I have been working for Arctic Power for 4 years on their Hill campaigns doing research for our lobbyists who make visits to Congressmen. Yes I have been to the 10-02 Area and have many native friends who live there (Kaktovik). My main job is to coordinate our public information campaigns and liaise with coalition partners across America in garnering support for the ANWR cause on the Hill. I liaise with the press and do trade fairs and general PR as well for the organization. Although I currently work in DC I reside in Alaska. DC is an alien culture to me, Alaska is much nicer!”

He was formerly in DC on a grant at the time...he may be back in Alaska now. Always did my part to fight for my beliefs
Thanks OWF.
Thank you Shelayne.
Xzins, for our side those things never end. Normal rules don’t apply.
(And as you well know, I'm rarely wrong. ;*)
Soon as I heard he was Gore’s Campaign Chairman in 1988, that did it for me.
LOL, he learned nothing from the Reagan revolution. Nothing...
Yeah ok...
I dealt with the issues and you keep going. Not much I can rationally do after that.
You merely attack. Not much merit in your posts as to the point I was making.
In business you give to those that will benefit your bottom line. This is common practice.
So is there more to your point...
So I see you fell for the alinskyizing of Bush so badly you hate him like a liberal. That’s a shame.
Respectfully would appreciate it if you no longer posted me. Not interested in your views.
I think he can thank Rush for much of that money.
Rush has been overboard in his passionate defense of Cain.
I love Rush but I think he may end up being embarrassed by Cain.
Well Cain and Newt are my 2 candidates. I would take them together in a heartbeat, Cain/Newt or Newt/Cain, either way would be good.
I think Cain is conservative in a way, but I would call him a conservative democrat.
I wouldn’t give him a dime either because, unfair as these allegations may be, he has not handled them with any class at all.
Accusing Perry of leaking this was the last straw for me.
He’s mad about false accusations and yet he makes false allegations himself about an honorable opponent.
We wouldn't want to pick someone that the MSM/Democrat/RINO-complex didn't approve of.
The safe thing to do would be to co-nominate Ubama.
That way we can't lose!
