Free Republic founder Jim Robinson has a message for supporters of Mitt Romney: go away.
In an email to POLITICO this afternoon, Robinson admitted that the site routinely blocks Romney supporters from posting -- and offered no apologies for the practice:
Free Republic is a pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-small government, pro-constitution, pro-liberty site. Governor Romney is none of the above. His record is that of an abortionist, gay rights pushing, gun grabbing, global warming advocating, big government, mandate loving, constitution trampling, flip-flopping liberal progressive with no core values. That and the fact that he is the chief architect and advocate for ObamaCare disqualifies him for any consideration whatsoever on Free Republic as a potential nominee for the presidency.

Romney is only qualified to LIE, to ruin the economy,
and to impose his fascism and ObamaCARE/RomneyCARE.
You see something I am missing?
I heard Huntsman speak Chinese the other day, on TV.
He’s too snotty for me. Fingernails on a chalkboard.
Romney is Fox’s choice.
Wrong move, Fox.
Thanks, but the rumors of a great purge are grossly exaggerated. What I have posted many times is that there will be no campaign for Romney on this pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-small government conservative site.
Here’s a recent example:
Purpose of FR and why we can never support Mitt Romney

And another:
Long live the TEA party rebellion!! NO MORE RINOS!! NO ROMNEY, NO WAY!!

Works for me
No... I'm saying, ON PAPER no one else is MORE qualified than Romney. His credentials are not my problem with him.. his POSITIONS... are.
I don't agree with Mitt on much. But, his background and experience are VERY WELL suited for a President.
You are famous. you’re mentioned in the comments, along with a few others.
Then, there were those 35 first cousins ~ most of them with bright red hair (or near to it), ready to fight at the drop of a hat AND half of them girls ~ meanest girls you ever did see in fact. Kick you around the block without even thinking about it.
You ain't got nothin' gal, nothin!
Heck no, and likely never will. Those who refuse to compete, die off. There is a saying in investing: “Risk rewards the brave, and rejects the cowardly”. Without investment (i.e. putting your business profits BACK into your business), a retail outlet dies. Not so different with websites.
Other conservative sites like TownHall, FoxNews, SeekingAlpha etc are laughing at this site. Just read the comments.
LOL I see our good buddy Willie Green has something to say in the comments as well.
his background and experience are VERY WELL suited for a President.

background - Romney’s father was born in mexico
Experience - Romney is a Mormon high priest and bishop.....
I do not beehive that at all.He will ever carry Ohio and barely registers any support here.Cain is the one who can take Ohio.
Mitty is fading in Michigan and Cain is...well “Raising”.
Actually my relatives were quite courteous and kind. My relatives ran a STATE Park in Mo. And farmed on the side.
I know the rules of the game. Sounds like your girls tried to be one of the guys.
I didn’t...just paid attention.
Mitt is not my candidate but IF he wins... then what. I seem to recall Bush was not like around here at first.
That’s very good that you knew your place. So did our girls. in the saddle. Driving the team. Walking up hill to school in the winter in 3 ft of snow, and taking the short cut back home, after school, also uphill.
Yes... well, I love you too.
I have TONS of respect for JimRob.. and, the amazing things he's done here at FreeRepublic.
But, these 'purges', IMO, are not overly healthy for FR.
In my 13 years here, these are the ONLY TIMES I EVER have a disagreement with the boss. It's not like this is the first time.
I'm not committed to any candidate at this point... Cain is my first choice... based on what I've heard thus far. Perry, probably second.. but, a pretty distant second. But, I'm not so clueless as to think there is ZERO chance Romney won't be the Republican nominee. I don't want to think about that.. and, I'm ACTIVELY working with Tea Parties in my home town, and in Houston to make sure it DOESN'T happen.. But, it might.
In the grand scheme of things... I don't think it's a great thing to get SO worked up about Mitt, that you CAN'T... or WON'T support him against Obama.
There are NO “more qualified” candidates
Are you really saying....Romney is the most qualified?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Oh Romney is qualified. He is qualified to be a first class democrat.
He'd be the best Democrat candidate in my lifetime... but, I agree with you... he's better suited to be on THEIR ticket.
Hell... he's STILL more qualified than Obama.
