Embattled presidential candidate Herman Cain decided to try to sing away his blues during an appearance at the National Press Club today.
The former pizza magnate burst into an a capella rendition of a gospel song as questions about alleged decade-old claims of sexual harassment swirled.
Saying he wanted to share his faith with the assembled reporters, Cain used his rich baritone voice to nail a verse from the Dottie Rambo number He Looked Beyond My Fault and Saw My Need.

One thing I wonder is what came before this clip. He mentioned it being an opportunity to share his faith...but I am not sure why. Perhaps he was asked about it directly? If he was...are you still thinking its ok to be so harsh on him? And what harm has he done to you, me, or anyone by singing anyway? I find it refreshing that he is not trying to hide himself behind a mask of what he thinks people expect of him...like 99% of the polls out there.
Tucker, although I’m a born-again believer, I’m not a very emotional person. In fact, I’m not very emotional at all. And when Cain conceded to the moderator to sing, I rolled my eyes and wondered why he didn’t just tell the guy to go get bent.
Then when Herman started singing that song, and what a great choice it was, my eyes literally teared up. Anybody else could have sang that song, and it wouldn’t have affected me in the least. But there was something very real when Cain sang it. I believe the hand of God really is upon that man.
I have no idea whether Cain goes all the way or not. I just know this: God is offering this country, through Cain, the opportunity to return to righteousness and greatness again. Sadly, though, the only thing I lack more than emotion, is faith in my fellow man to make the right choice for 2012.
I personally am VERY INTERESTED in this angle. Anyone?
Oh ye of little faith.....
Just a little note: We all don’t believe in Jesus. For example, I am Jewish. I don’t mind anyone praying to the God of their belief. But as President of the US, and the Republican candidate, he should be conscious of that. And before any of you get all uppity up...Just go ahead and ask me again why Jews tend to vote Democrat.
We've all been far too conscious of that and look where it's gotten us......Muslims suing a private Catholic college to make them take down their statues of Jesus and symbols of God because they don't feel comfortable.
I say we just quit being so darned offended about everything.
I'm not a Cain supporter, but...
Is playing the Saxophone on national TV Presidential? (Clinton). I'm sorry, but Clinton really lowered the bar for Presidential behavior.
I still blame H. Ross Perot for the mess this country is in today!
When you are running for President of the United States, all bets are off. And as a Jew, I AM NOT TOUCHY about it at all, but I’m going to tell you that millions are. And you can say they shouldn’t be, but they are, and they vote too.
While you are considering it torture to listen to the Name of Jesus, don’t lose sight of the fact that This Nation, Founded upon Christian Principles, has provided one of the few true havens where Jews could thrive for a couple hundred years.
Also, before you pull the D-Lever, it might be wise to keep in mind that it isn’t the Obamas or the Clintons or the Reids or the Pelosis that are standing up for Israel; it’s the Grahams and the Hagees and the Falwells and the despised Robertsons and THEIR kind who are keeping up the pressure and hindering the DemocRATS from dumping Israel and throwing them to the tender mercies of Ahmanutjob in Iran, and HIS colleagues in the region.
The only TRUE friends Israel in particular, or Jews in general have on this planet, are the Jesus loving, Bible toting, Born again Christians. Better look below the surface, find out who your REAL friends are, and then stick real close.
Jesus loves you, and so do I.
Oy. You realize that is as insane as the Obamatrons in 2008 who thought he was the messiah. I can't believe I have to say this, but Cain is just a man, with flaws and all.
That you even mentioned it says otherwise.
LMAO!!! You are apparently accusing me of ascribing some kind of deity to Cain in my post. Is that through a careless reading, or an intentional distortion, of what I wrote?
Please just think about it.
I am trying to tell you all something, but you’re too thick headed to listen. Again, it doesn’t bother me personally, but it bothers me that I finally convince non Christian people to come to Republican gatherings, and the first thing that happens is that they hear that we are all praying in the name of Jesus. My point is that there are other ways that would not take anything away from your Religion and would make a world of difference to someone else.
I posted what you wrote. You wrote it, not me. If that wasn’t your intent, the fault is not with me, it’s with you.
I don't know what kind of "Republican gatherings" you drag your friends to, but I've attended every single Tea Party rally, large and small, in my area since April 15, 2009, and nobody has ever been forced or pressured into "praying in the name of Jesus."
I cannot recall a single rally in which there was not a prayer, but the prayer was always a very general one to our Creator, God, from Whom we derive our unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. No "in Jesus' name we pray", nothing that any person of Jewish faith would not be comfortable with.
We pray in the Name of Jesus because your undiscovered Messiah, The Lord Jesus Christ, the fulfillment of Isaiah chapter 53 and many other Old Testament prophecies, and the Second Person of the Trinity TOLD US TO. “Whatsoever you ask the Father in my name; I will do it.”

No, the fault is with *YOU*! For me to say that God may have placed Herman Cain at this place, at this time, for a specific purpose — the same way God has placed men and women in certain places at certain times for specific purposes throughout all history — is *not* to say that Herman Cain is the “messiah.”
You simply *want* to read more into my post than is really there. Why? I have no idea, nor do I really care. Any rational person could read my post and know that I am not equating God having a purpose for Herman Cain with Herman Cain being the messiah.
My Messiah has already come. And He lives. He is not Herman Cain. You may still be waiting for your messiah to come. But I can tell you this: he is also not Herman Cain.
You are one sick rino P.O.S.
