All three morning shows on Monday hyped a "bombshell blast" against Herman Cain, playing up a story in Politico charging the Republican presidential candidate with sexual harassment back in the 1990s. ABC's Good Morning America led with the allegations.
Co-host George Stephanopoulos, whose former boss, Bill Clinton, repeatedly faced sexual harassment claims, touted, "And this morning, bombshell blast. Major allegations against front-runner Herman Cain. Two former female colleagues accuse him of sexual harassment."
CBS's Early Show ...Crawford also connected the allegations, linking, "...This reminds me of similar allegations that were levied just 20 years ago against Justice Clarence Thomas who, of course, was accused of sexual harassment himself."
.... MAGGIE HABERMAN (Senior political writer, Politico): Uh, I think the story was extremely well reported and it really speaks for itself. We gave the campaign ten days to respond to this. They repeatedly did not directly address the specifics of this. And when one of my colleagues, Jonathan Martin, approached Mr. Cain directly yesterday. And he did not say these allegations are false. He didn't really even address it. So, I think the story is thoroughly reported and, again, I think it really does stand.
STEPHANOPOULOS: The sources are anonymous for the most part. You speak to some members of the board of the National Restaurant Association. They said they knew nothing about this. Did you speak to the women involved?
HABERMAN: You know, we spoke to many sources. I'm not going to specify who we spoke to. I think we spoke to a lengthy roster of people who were around the NRA at the time, former board members, former staffers, as we said in the story. But, I think I'm going to let the sources have protection.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Why can't you say you spoke to the women?

Thanks for the blow by blow...so to speak.
Except that Cain jumped on the rock story and accused Perry of being insensitive to blacks. Perry has NOT accused Cain of being insensitive to anybody here, and has refused to comment on the allegations.
Also, it didn’t take Perry three tries to get his story straight about the rock.
I’m shocked. A “Wimmin’R’Evil” post on FR.
I’ll put my voting record up against any man’s.
No response from any women as far as I know. But then commenting on a truth which puts one in an unfavorable light is for some a difficult thing to do.
This is what happens when emotion takes over logic. There's a place for emotion, even in picking a President but I think people invest way too much of themselves into the person instead of the judging the candidate on why he would be a good President.
When you have people so invested in Cain that they say they wouldn't vote X over Obama, they're a lost cause.
And yes, Cain tried to make political headway off the Perry rock story and then backtracked when he saw he could be hurt by it.
By the way, this isn't a hightech lynching, I can't stand that phrase. It's and attempt to destroy a candidate using an actual event, the accusation. They did the same to Perry with the rock story.
When I get up at 3am every morning the news has already been on for an hour and has been on a recording in my Dish PVR, so when FnF starts hyping the story like its pumping blood from a fire hydrant I just skip past it.
Some of us are not just dumb followers of the MSM, we have a skip button and an off button.
I hope your advertisers who are paying you millions are aware of that.
One of these days the MSM is gonna get taken to the wood shed.
Ill put my voting record up against any mans.
No response from any women as far as I know.
Riggghhht. No women so far. Moms don't count. No sane person would give mom crap.
The women I know are long on emotion and short on critical thinking.
I heartily applaud any which are not.
It was the womans vote which put Ostupid in the WH.
