But, But, But, Rick Perry spoke at La Raza!! He's pro-illegal-alien!!! He's open borders!!! He's the darling of the Latino activists!!!
Well, apparently not. Although I doubt this will make any difference to those who keep spreading those stories.
“Although I doubt this will make any difference to those who keep spreading those stories”
Nope. I think Free Republic has been infiltrated by Obama agents. They are gleefully throwing around discontent.
“”Because Governor Rick Perry has backed some especially harsh anti-illegal immigrant legislation (like a bill that would outlaw sanctuary cities””

Texas Legislature Fails To Pass Sanctuary City Ban

ping, in case you want to add to the Perry ping list; up to you.
Some Texans, unfortunately for Whinestone cowboy Rick have been kept abreast of this stuff by their state legislators.
Open borders Perry is a fair charge. So is his skullduggery in the TTC fiasco.
If Perry wanted to build a credible case that he had reformed, he could have worked to secure the border between now and 2016 and run then. Many who adamantly oppose him suggested that over a year ago, including me.
People who don’t know anything about Perry and are afflicted with a particularly thoughtless kind of partisanship think Perry is “pro-illegal”. He isn’t, but his signing the tuition bill in 2001 allows others to smear him. Signing the bill was a mistake, but the Texas legislature would have overridden his veto very easily.
But I thought “open borders” Perry loved illegals?!!
I am so confused /s
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

Besides, to be pro-illegal is to support a form of modern day slavery.
This sounds far fetched to me.
Wow.
Well, those Democratic activist groups, who are for the most part not even Hispanic themselves, probably won’t have much luck getting many Hispanic citizens to jump over and vote for Mr. Cain, and I’ll show why.
Hispanic voters are actually very socially conservative with a high regard for their religion (mainly Catholic but other faiths too), and while many Hispanic citizens vote Democratically, many do vote Republican and the majority do take social conservatism into account when voting. Most Hispanic citizens even support strong immigration policies and enforcement. Marco Rubio is one of those Hispanic citizens who proves to be a conservative that stands tough on immigration issues, but he is just one of many.

Conservative Republican Values and the American Hispanic Mind
http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/05/conservative_republican_values.html
And some second and third generation socially conservative Latinos are even moving from Catholicism towards Evangelical Christian churches in an effort to integrate themselves even more into the conservative American world.
But trying to get them to vote for Cain at this point might be a fruitless effort as these same religiously faithful Hispanic citizens were very upset with some wording used recently by Mr. Cain. While those very-conservative Hispanic citizens may vote pro-life, pro-family, pro-faith, etc., and appreciate a safer country with strict immigration policies, their moral compass was shaken by the idea of the drastically violent wording that was used for people of their same culture and decent.
Now I’m sure Mr. Cain was just joking when he said what he did a couple weeks back. In fact he said the next day that he was just joking, so we shouldn’t hold him to that same stand now since he said it was just a joke and that he didn’t really mean it, but the damage was already done in the Latino world, internationally and for those socially-conservative Hispanic citizens in America alike.

HATE CRIME INCREASES AGAINST LATINOS Teen attacked, called beaner and stupid Mexican
October 22, 2011
Excerpt:
We will be addressing the increase of hate crimes against our fellow Latino brethren. No thanks to the likes of Russell Pearce, Herman Cain, Virgil Peck and so many others advocating hate and violence against Latinos and immigrants. So much for the pro life party. There will be hell to pay for this at the voting booths.***

I wouldn’t even try to guess who our country’s conservative Latinos may vote for come this election, but I don’t think any Democrat activist group is going to move those conservative votes to Mr. Cain as easily as this article seems to indicate.
Or are they just double-agents trying to help Perry build some anti-illegal credentials after his near disasterous defense of the Texas Dream Act?
LOL. Perry can kowtow to the racists at ‘la raza’ all he wants, but they still won’t vote for him. Too funny. Opportunism apparently doesn’t always pay.
