LOL. Perry can kowtow to the racists at ‘la raza’ all he wants, but they still won’t vote for him. Too funny. Opportunism apparently doesn’t always pay.

One would think that certain GOP figures would have learned by now that pandering to the militant Hispanic interests in this country gets you nowhere. But apparently some have been unable to learn from the pitfalls of others. And inability to learn from past mistakes is the hallmark of liberals, not conseratives.

If you are not aware the Republican Party has a good number of Hispanic GOP leaders, politicians, and voters, then you need to get yourself more informed.

To be strong on immigration and border security is the right thing to do. Even most American Latino Republicans are for immigration enforcement. They want a safe and protected country to live in just as everyone else does.

The Republican Party does have Hispanic voters. Hispanics are traditionally very conservative on social issues in particular, and many DO vote Republican because of those social and family-oriented issues, and while we should honor our immigration policies, we should NOT be using the immigration issue as a means to spew words of hate and disgust for the very Latino voters we need to win the general election.

Be careful with your walk and talk, here and everywhere else, or we’ll see those Republican Latinos get fed up and leave our party completely, and that is not only wrong but not smart at all if you want to get a conservative voted into office.

Giving a speech at a meeting in your state isn’t “kowtow”ing. Our candidates are all showing up at left-wing news organization debates; they aren’t “kowtowing” to CNN, they are trying to get a message out to as many different people as possible.

I would be thrilled if Sarah Palin did a speech at the NAACP, or to La Raza, or at the annual DCC retreat — because her message would be one that they all need to hear, and that could sway some to mend their ways.

The bad part of polarization is the refusal to attempt to communicate to those we disagree with. Note that here at FR, when I disagree with people, I see an opportunity to persuade them to my position — I don’t run off and ignore them because they don’t agree with me.
