Insider's Insights on the Perry Shake-up (Anita calling the shots)
The New Republic ^ | 10-25-11 | Alec MacGillis

Running for president would be different. "I don't think it'll be seamless," cautioned Bill Miller, a veteran Austin political consultant who has worked for both parties and counts Perry as a friend. And no, it has not been seamless. In fact, it's been coming apart at the seams, which is why Perry has now brought in a whole new set of advisers, in addition to his standard team, led by Joe Allbaugh, who served as the day-to-day manager of George W. Bush's campaigns, alongside the rest of Bush's "iron triangle," the big-picture guy Karl Rove, and Bush's personal guardian, Karen Hughes. I asked Miller how to read the shake-up. Some of his observations:

.....

3. The move is further proof of the sway of Anita Perry. She helped persuade Perry to run, and she earlier played a key role in getting him to issue the controversial HPV vaccine mandate. "This is Anita-driven, not Rick-driven. Anita is the one who said, 'We've got to make changes.'"

Yikes! bcsco, is all sensitive!

In your dreams. You're projecting. I'm enjoying the hell out of this, and at your expense. I'm laughing my head off because you Perrybots have learned the awful truth and you can't face it. Your leader is nothing more than another cookie-cutter RINO who's had to go the the Bush campaign to restore his failing campaign.

He probably didn't want to go that route to begin with; it would certainly come out and wouldn't help what with the Tea Party and all. But now he's failing and has to do it in order (hopefully) to restore some semblance of relevance. So here you sit, the facts before you, and you call me delusional. BWAHAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I'm laughing at you.

Those are the PARTIAL facts of the case. The truth is Cain tells one group one thing and another group another. http://theiowarepublican.com/2011/do-we-really-know-who-herman-cain-is/

Again, Monday, Cain stepped in it on Fox & Friends. http://freedomslighthouse.net/2011/10/24/herman-cain-asked-should-abortion-be-part-of-the-political-discussion-answer-no-it-should-not-video-102411/

Also be sure to see Cain’s conflicting answer to his position on Second Amendment rights. I have no idea where this guy stands on anything and he has no record.

There really isn't much more they can do. The truth is slowly coming out. Does the story say Rove has become a Perry advisor? No, but it's pretty easy to understand what's happening.

The stuff about the wife? Who knows. But the meat of the story is about the connection between the Bush team and the Perry campaign. There goes one big point the Perrybots have tried to maintain since day one.

Then you probably won't like most of the potential first ladies/men. It their spouse has decided to run for the office, you can bet they have their say.

But that's the least of this story...if true. This blows the whole lid off the idea of Perry being a solid conservative with Tea Party credentials.

That line provides background on who Allbaugh is and who he worked with in Bush's campaign. Nothing more.

Anita was probably behind Perry using an executive order to mandate Gardasil.

Yikes.

I don't believe that at all. Perry's long-time friend and former chief-of-staff was employed by Merck to lobby Perry for the vaccine. Anita may have twice publicly claimed to have been the one to push Rick into running, and she maybe behind the campaign shakeup, but I don't see Rick signing executive orders because of her, I see him signing them to help his friends out.

As for Allbaugh, while it's true he is a Rudy Giuliani supporter, he did not support the Bush campaign in 2004, and the guy has a reputation for getting things done, which is what Rick needed.

You can have a great sales team, but if the product ain’t worth a sack of crap, it never matters.

A great team can push a great candidate, but they can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

Herman Cain was the top economic adviser to Bob Dole/Jack Kemp. Give me a break.

"I have a simple question for you: Is Cain pro-life, or not? He tells two different versions."

The simple answer is POSITIVELY YES!!! If you check back through his record over the years, there is no doubt about it.

In almost every case, the spouse running the campaign is fatal.

“Rant much? Geez! “

You betcha! When there is something to rant about, we’re all in! It is so fun to have something to rant about, at last. NOW, you start coming down to earth explaining what the column said actually. You gotta give up those quick reads when it comes to the Rickster. Then you go to fall back mode trying to presume your way through a Perry slam. We’ll let you know when you get warm. No one cares about who works for whom basically from those of us who tried to get W. elected. Rove, is a no-can-do. Fuhgeddabout it. Try something else to blubber about. Go ahead. Make up something..................again. LOL!

” Tired of unelected unaccountable first ladies meddling in my life. “ <<<<

No one cares who’s meddling in your life. We’re working on JOBS here. Not manufactured complaints, tall stretches and phantom concerns about Anita Perry, who has earned her critics. Why? Because she is a mover and a shaker who gets things done in her own right. People like that get draw fire from the whiners who only wish.

How low can Perry stoop?

They were trying to rope more dopes...

Even the dopes aren't buying it this time.

My point is that political operatives jump from team to team all day long and twice on Sundays.

Like flees jumping on a dog?

Ya think the candidate has nothing to do with those standing behind the curtain?

Come now.
