Short term it would have been nice to have had a stable Iraq until Israel can finish off iran's nukes in 2013 when the adults take over.
Long term it really doesn't matter. The entire mid-East will be a sharia heaven.

We need to stay until the Iraqis achieve complete unity and are 100% ready to completley secure the nation by hemselves.

10 years is more than enough time. If they want a decent country build one and quit sucking off our tax dollar teat!

Yeah, pretty much. Their government refuses to come to an agreement for immunity for our soldiers there, exposing each and every one of them to the whims of the local Sharia courts. So leave and screw them. Let them stew in their own juices. This is one of the few Obama dictates with which I agree.

Well. obviously we would have to secure immunity from prosecution for our troops.
Without such a guarantee of immunity, we would have to pull our troops as none of us want to see US troops put on trial by the Iraqis.

So, who has the pool on how long it will before bloody anarchy or the Iranians take over?
How much is the buy-in?
To: trumandogz
Well. obviously we would have to secure immunity from prosecution for our troops. Obviously. I agree that there is no way we can leave troops there without it. So what would you do to get it from an Iraqi government that doesn't seem open to granting immunity?

The chance’s of winning this pool are much better than the chance’s of winning a lotto.
Give me six months in that pool for $20.00

Obama and Hillary couldn’t get those negotiations for three f...g years..don’t tell me they really wanted this strategic drawdown that the generals wanted to work..
this way they and all the Freepers who say”Oh, the troops didn’t have immunity” can say”Gosh, we just couldn’t work out another strategy, bye bye.”
To: SoJoCo
“So what would you do to get it from an Iraqi government that doesn’t seem open to granting immunity?”
If the Iraqi government is secure and sovereign enough to rule that US troops will not be granted immunity, the Iraqi government is sovereign and secure enough to rule their own country without the aid of US troops.
