A married mother of four from Florida ditched her family to become part of the raggedy mob in Zuccotti Park -- keeping the park clean by day and keeping herself warm at night with the help of a young waiter from Brooklyn.
Im not planning on going home, an unapologetic Stacey Hessler, 38, told The Post yesterday.
I have no idea what the future holds, but Im here indefinitely. Forever, said Hessler, whose home in DeLand sits 911 miles from the tarp shes been sleeping under.
Hessler -- who ironically is married to a banker -- arrived 12 days ago and planned to stay for a week, but changed her plans after cozying up to some like-minded radicals, including Rami Shamir, 30, a waiter at a French bistro in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn.
...
The unemployed Long Island native compared her decision to abandon her family to Americans serving in the armed forces.

This is a sole custody case.
After at least 17 years she gets alimony.
He should be filing for emergency sole custody and no contact pending a mental exam of her. (seriously is she pooping in public too? The banker should send a PI to picture her and her .....friend.)
She Sounds a lot like a Stanley Ann Dunham type.
Hessler has spoken with her family — husband Curtiss, 42; son Peyton, 17; and daughters Kennedy 15, Sullivan, 13, and Veda, 7 — just three times since leaving them. Friends are taking care of them, she said.
Not everyone has supported her decision. My mother told me I was being very selfish, she admitted.
And her husband, a former Bank of America financial adviser who now works at a local Florida bank, is perplexed. He says hes working for the Man, and Im fighting against him, she said.
That was my first thought, how painful this would be for her children. You have to wonder, too, if the husband saw this coming or was he also sympathetic to the ‘movement,’ other than his wife’s public embrace of it.
This reminds me of that schoolteacher in Seattle area who had an affair with her 13 year old student. In that case, the dad moved to AK to get th kids away from people who’d known them. But these selfish women don’t care about their kids, all they care about is their own needs.
I have a plea for my friends. I need your help and support. I want to stay occupying wall st. I feel my presence is very important in the support of non-violent communication and sanitation(keeping the park clean) I am willing to work tirelessly on these efforts. I need help with getting my kids to activities and stepping up with the things I help lead, such as one small village, jr roller derby, bee-attitudes, 4H, for his glory co-op. Please respond if you are willing to help my kids so I can stay here and help this movement. I have a train ticket for tomorrow that I want to change but I need to know I have support from my community back home for my family in order to change the ticket.
No less than 12 of her friends are offering to help out.
Sicko!
Sorry but Florida is a “shared parenting” state. Meaning neither gets full custody. State law will not allow for stripping either parent of their parental rights. Yes, even when DCF investigates, finds and charges one of the parents with neglect.
However, that does help the other in the divorce proceedings or divorce agreement.
Depends on the state. As far as I am concerned, she is cohabiting with the waiter. No alimony for her.
She was and still is mentally ill in some way. Her life is a wreck after another failed marriage and today none of her grown kids have much to do with her. She made life hell for all of us.
I have been married to my wife now for 22 years. She is a peach (and far better looking than I deserve). We fit like peas and carrots and I am a happy fellow.
Glad you are too. Many people aren't ever that fortunate.
no I am familiar with sole custody cases based on the best interests of the children.
You have abandonment. (a good sole custody issue alone)
You have concealing children with “friends”.
Your have Denial of custody to the other parent.
She is up there INDEFINITLY.
In front of a judge she is toast.
Must be a song, or two, perhaps a movie title, that relate to this story.
“Night Train”...
Future episode of “Who The (bleep) Did I Marry?”.
Guilty.
under Jeb Bush, Florida did pass a cohabitation rule for alimony. You just have to prove permanence. IOW random irresponsibile sex could be her hobby.
Florida is equitable distribution. She will probably get “something” as a flat settlement but the child custody is a totally seperate issue.
The fact she ran off to OWS is indicative of her refusal to have a job.
And we DID get married and the honeymoon is over 13 years and counting. :-)
Wow, good story. Congratulations on your new life. You seem as though you have learned a lot and brought a lot of good stuff to your second marriage. Good job.
Title? I dunno, but ‘Draggin the line’ comes to mind.
“no I am familiar with sole custody cases based on the best interests of the children”
Maybe so...... but not in Florida.
There is no such thing as “sole-custody” in Florida. Sorry, there’s not.
Trust me, I am living proof. Could not strip my ex’s parental rights for the protection of my child. Even though I had restraining orders and child neglect judgments in hand.
