Vice President Joe Biden has been steadfast in his claim that if the president’s American Jobs Act does not pass, “rape will continue to rise.” Some have questioned Biden for invoking rape to push legislation, but the National Organization for Women is not among them.
After one version of Obama’s jobs bill failed to overcome a Senate filibuster last week, the administration has been working to paint Republicans as the ones to blame, and Biden has done so forcefully.
“Well let me tell you, it’s not temporary when that 911 call comes in and a woman’s being raped if a cop shows up in time to prevent the rape,” Biden said Tuesday in Philadelphia, responding to opponents who have called the jobs bill a temporary fix.

Police don’t prevent rape and rarely stop it. Letting people protect themselves and their friends will reduce the crime rate.
A woman was raped at the Occupy Cleveland event. Apparently she was assigned a tent that she was to share with some one. That someone raped her. I haven’t seen Biden come out against THAT rape. I guess only the ones that politically serve his pupose get him worked up.

Then there is the fact that the number of rapes prevented in this country each year via direct intervention by the police is so small it can probably be counted on one hand, by a person who is missing a couple of fingers.

The chances of the cops showing up in time to prevent the rape are practically nil, and even if they do it's still temporary. He'll be back out on the street looking for his next victim soon enough. If they were really interested in a permanent fix, they'd be telling women to arm themselves and kill the bastards.
My immediate thought after hearing Biden say this...followed by, why the hell isn't the press asking this question? More idiotic legislation would be stopped in it's tracks if the press would ask a few simple common sense questions. Like, how is it better to take the tax payer money and launder it through DC, than it is to give it directly to the local rape stoppers? The press should be mocking Biden in unison for the absurdity of the concept.
Police rarely prevent crimes - they investigate crimes & arrest perps AFTER the crime is committed.
So, unless we are willing to pay for millions more police to patrol EVERY street, business, home, & lot in America 24/7/365, which would make the USA a police state but still not stop the rapes, then I suggest women take every precaution to protect themselves & shoot the SOB rapist multiple times. And teach your children to respect others - the Golden Rule is an excellent place to start.
