Charlotte Cops Preparing For Potential Riots Ahead of Dem. Convention

Police forces in Charlotte, NC, are preparing for unruly crowds when the 2012 Democratic National Convention comes to town, according to recent reports.

“Charlotte’s police department is already stocking up on riot gear and training officers in riot-control techniques in preparation for the event,” Newser reports.

Although the city already has a few hundred trained riot police, they have decided to recruit almost every one of them for intensive riot training—just in case.

So what goes into “intensive” riot training?

“It’s a very controlled, measured response with a lot of practice,” said Deputy Chief Harold Medlock. Medlock is overseeing the training, which also includes hundreds of officers from nearby police and sheriff’s departments, according to WSOCTV.com.

“The point of some of the tactics and the maneuvers that we use is to allow folks to have the time to do what we’re asking them to do,” Medlock said in the report.

Wouldn't be surprised to see riots here, the left seems to want to relive the 1960s, and I think the DNC is going to lose the state no matter who happens to win the GOP nomination.

Should make for interesting TV, as opposed to the usual boring conventions.

I think the democrats are going to lose a lot of states they have held for a long time. They can’t afford to lose one midwestern state and I think they’ll lose most of it.

A MASSIVE FR Organizing oppurtunity, if we are smart enough to take it.

Anybody up for a ping list?

Nothing MO better than seeing RATS fight at their convention while watching it on my big screen TV, with a big ole bowl of buttered popcorn.
I can't wait. . . . . . . . .

If there's so much as a single TEA Party sign within 50 miles of Charlotte, every violent incident will be blamed on the TEA Party.

Interesting that the LEOs expected the Dems to riot. Expecially since it’s those same DEMS and the Lame Stream Media that keep telling us that it’s those darn racist, neanderthal, grandma starvin’, baby eating, dirty environment lovin’ bitter clingers (read “the right”) that are the violent ones.

Best guess, training is taking place out to possibly a 100 mile radius. The region is not known as the Hornets’ Nest for an unknown reason.

I think Wisconsin, maybe even Michigan is up for grabs. I hope North Carolinians get rid of that idiot Bev Perdue while they’re at it.

I don't see how he can possibly win the midwest especially since we own the secretary of state offices in most of those states as well.

Here in Michigan we lost a house seat overall but gained two GOP seats. Even John Conyers faces a 3 way fight in a new district.

right you are rarestia,
So far you’ve not seen too many of these wide ranging beat downs here or any Castle law state.
Everyone should go and get a CCW and arm and protect themselves and their family.

Yeah, you're right. The Dems never, ever support unionized public service employees.
